The weather.. usually behind most
delays.. hasn t been much of a
problem... Despite heavy fog on the
West Coast.. planes are coming and
going from LAX.. And a low cloud
ceiling in the Northeast has just
slowed ground traffic a bit.
KAREN BROWN: This busy region gets
another path for commercial planes
starting tomorrow.. when the military
opens some of its airspace. It s part
of President Bush s plan to help ease
Thanksgiving delays.
Kennedy Airport has also opened an
third runway to keep planes moving....
experts say getting New York on
schedule will keep the rest of the
country on track, too.
Travelers trying to ensure their own
smooth journey said an early start was
essential.

There is breaking news out of
Seattle, Washington this afternoon as
two small planes have collided over the
water of Puget Sound.

One of the planes was able to return
to the airport. The other crashed into
the water. It floated for a while
before it sank.
K-I-R-O is reporting there are
apparently survivors. A pleasure boat
has reportedly pulled an unknown number
of people out of the water.

to take the injured to the hospital.

The U-S military says 12 people

southeast of Baghdad.
Officials say initial reports

went astray today... and hit a man
driving in Roanoke County---
Here's what happened.
Department of Game officers say the
bullet came through the window of
Howard Bowers' truck while he was
driving on Newport Road in the Catawba
area around 7:30 this morning.
Investigators found two
hunters in the area who both said they
shot at a deer around the same time.
Neither has been charged, but
Conservation Police Officers are taking
forensic evidence from both.
Bowers was taken to
Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for
surgery on his hand.

The Corp of Cadet's Highty
Tighties are performing in the Macy's
Thanksgiving Parade.
We caught up with the band at its
last practice before it heads to New
York City.
Members say they are proud to
represent Virginia Tech.. but most
importantly... they are proud to honor
Matt La Porte (La-Pour).
He was killed on April 16th and
was a member of the band.
His family members will be guests
at the parade.

and Virginia Tech as they get ready to
meet for the 89th time in school
history on Saturday.
Yesterday we Flashed back to 1995
and relived Tech's come from behind win
in Charlottesville.
Tonight, we're going back to 1998
when the Cavs pulled off the greatest
comeback in UVA history - and they did
so at Lane Stadium.

(END SOT) things would be as they blasted out of
the tunnel to battle their in-state
rivals.
Shyrone Stith turns the first
quarter hand-off into a 51 yard TD dash
down the UVA sideline and before you
knew it Tech was on top 17 to nothing.
UVA fumbled in the opening half
and then Aaron Brooks had this pass
picked off by Loren Johnson and
returned to the eight yard line.
Shayne Graham hit a field goal
right before the break and the Hokies
led 29-to-7 at the half and most folks
felt like it was over.

The Tide began to turn in UVA's
favor when Johnson - one of Tech's best
corners left the game with a injured
left knee and never returned.
LOREN JOHNSON
With Johnson Brooks got busy -
first hitting Kevin Coffey on a 24 yard
slant-in to cut the lead to 29-to-14.
The Cavs' defense then made a
muched needed play as Byron Thweatt
picked off Al Clark's pass and took it
to the house in the third quarter to
make it a 29-to-21 game.
Tech was still on top 32-to-29
with just two minutes to go, but that's
when Brooks hit Ahamad Hawkins to
complete the greatest comeback in UVA
history as the Cavs win it 36-to-32.

Welsh, because the Hokies did respond
that year winning the Music City bowl
38-to-7 over Alabama. The Cavs
finished 9 and 3 that season, but lost
a heart breaker in the Peach Bowl to
Georgia 35-to-33.

pop song. Neil Diamond would never
reveal who was the inspiration for his
song "Sweet Caroline."

VO-NAT But the 66 year old singer isn't
keeping Caroline's identity a secret
anymore.
He tells The Associated Press that
President Kennedy's daughter was the
inspiration.
Diamond says a picture of a 10 year
old Caroline Kennedy inspired him to
write the song.
"Sweet Caroline" reached number
four on the Billboard charts in 1969
and brought new life to Diamond's
stalled career.
Diamond revealed his inspiration
when he performed the song last week
for Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg's 50th
birthday party.
