was hectic and so was the interchange

a house fire this morning.

Brooksfield Road around 9:30.
When they got there, they found
the back porch of the house in flames.
Julia P. Landes (LAND-IS) was
killed.
Landes was 85.
The cause of the fire is under
investigation.

stating the average Ben & Jerry's store

to a rough start for a sheriff's
officer in Rockingham County.
He was dragged about 150 by a
driver that refused to stop.

into a building, all while the
detective was partially caught inside
the S-U-V.
The sheriff's office say the
detective suspected the driver,
Christoper Treece, was intoxicated
which is why he tried to pull him over.
In addition to assaulting an
officer, the 21-year-old is also facing
multiple charges including carrying
drugs.
The officer who stopped him is
expected to make a full recovery.

NO SUPER! nearly 100 thousand pounds of ground
beef - some sold right here in
Virginia.
Two people have reportedly gotten
sick off of it - e-coli that is.
The meat in question was produced
on October 10th.
It includes fine ground beef
chuck, sirloin and chop beef steak.

Fire crews have determined humans are
to blame. It's no surprise for angry
Malibu residents who point the finger
at teenagers, partying Friday night in
caves up a steep canyon. Arson
investigators scoured the caves Sunday
for
clues. From above you can see a path
of scorched earth leads into the canyon
below.

Governor Schwarzenegger toured the
damage and praised firefighters who
were
ready when fire conditions were ripe.

up to the 5th spot in the Coaches poll
this week, tied with Kansas thanks to
their win over Virginia and the rash of
losses in front of them. The Hokies
are number 6 in the AP.
Tech is already getting focused
on its game this coming Saturday in
Jacksonville in the ACC title game.
It's a redemption game for the
Hokies in more ways than one.
Of course, there's the "payback
punch" the Hokies would love to deliver
to Boston College, and then there's a
little unfinished business for the
upperclassmen, who blew their only
other title game shot two years ago
against Florida State in the inaugural
ACC title game.

regular season one game short of their

Losing to Tech yesterday was a
tough pill for the Hoos to swallow, but

incredible year for the Hoos.

and 7 campaign to win 9 games and they
are guaranteed of a bowl game - most
likely in Orlando in the Champs Sports
