a woman in Blacksburg.

Crews were called out to 18-24
Brooksfield Road around 9:30 yesterday
morning.


When they got there, they found
the back porch of the house in flames.


Julia P. Landes (LAND-IS) was
killed.


Landes was 85.


The cause of the fire is under
investigation.

Rockingham County had a rough start to
his Thanksgiving holiday


He was dragged about 150 feet by
a driver that refused to stop.

driver's car when he finally crashed
into a building, all while the
detective was partially caught inside
the S-U-V.


The sheriff's office say the
detective suspected the driver,
Christoper Treece, was intoxicated
which is why he tried to pull him over.


In addition to assaulting an
officer, the 21-year-old is also facing
multiple charges including carrying
drugs.


The officer who stopped him is
expected to make a full recovery.

holiday weekend wrapped up.

congestion.


This section of I- 81 in Salem
was hectic and so was the interchange
at 5-81.


Drivers also came across a lot of
traffic in Rockbridge County and on
Interstate 77 near the North Carolina
border.
