Jason Earley and Sean Sutherland were
seriously injured when their plane
crashed near Maybrook, New York.
Jason's dad was the pilot ... he
died in that crash.
So before tonight's game, the
players and students held a moment of
silence in his memory and then prayed
for Sean and Jason's recovery.

hand during a bizarre attack.

now a murder suspect...speak out.

Kimberly Tenor told police she and the
child's stepfather beat and tortured
the two year old girl to death.
The little girl's body was found in
Texas and that's how she got the name.
Sketches helped police identify her.
Now Tenor's parents are talking to
the media, saying they tried to prevent
her from moving to Texas with a man she
met on the internet but couldn't stop
her. She was 18 at the time.
Tenor and her husband are in
custody.

he may have *unknowingly* helped Drew
Peterson dump the body. Chicago
newspapers are reporting his story --
he's Drew Peterson's step-brother.
The papers say he told a friend
that he helped Drew Peterson haul out a
large "rectangular" container - which
was warm to the touch - and weighed
about as much as Stacy. This was on
October 28th - a day before Stacy's
sister reported her missing.

but not much longer.
The Roanoke County clothing store
will close its doors on December 24th.

serving customers at the store since
the early 70s, soon after his parents
bought the business from John Norman.
Wendell says a combination of
factors convinced him the time was

down today.

Roanoke College sold the property
to the corporation "Roanoke Junction,
L-L-C" for more than one million
dollars.
The money will go toward the
Roanoke College endowment.

has been in a giving mood all week long
and today they saved the best for last
- the ACC player of the year award was
announced.
As expected this came down to a
duel between Boston College's Matt Ryan
- a six-time ACC player of the week and
UVA's Chris Long, the ACC's sack
leader.

offensive guy won out in the end.
Ryan picked up 50 first place
voted to easily outdistane Long, who
receiver 18 votes.
Ryan, was actually the persuasion
pick for player of the year and he
lived up to his hype by completing 60
percent of his passes, and throwing for
28 touchdowns and just under 4000
yards.
Long had 75 tackles this season
as UVA's top defensive lineman and he
led the ACC with 13 and a half
quarterback sacks.
Long did get a consolation prize
today as he was named a finalist for
the Ted Hendricks defensive end of the
year award. The six-four, 280 pound
senior is also a finalist for the
Lombardi and Nagurski awards.

GRAPHIC=NCAA The Virginia Tech men's soccer
team hosted a second round NCAA
tournament contest tonight in
Blacksburg as California made the trek
across country to take on the Hokies.

tournament in the past five years - but
Tech had never won an NCAA game before.
A huge crowd turned out to see if
they could change their luck.
And the Hokies took care of that
tonight in the first half as Ben Nason
wheels and deals in heavy traffic a
cranks wicked shot out into the net to
put Tech on top 1-to-nothing at the
24:52 mark.
The Hokies kept bringing the heat
on the Cal defense all night long. The
nice lift to Alexander Baden is there,
but he just can't get enough steam on
the shot.
But efforts like those would pay
off eventually, James Gilson takes the
Golden Bears to school and almost to
the back the net.

constitutes fraud- in other words the

pleaded today in court.

He's charged in connection with
the robbery Of sports memorabilia in
september at a Las Vegas hotel. If
convicted, Simpson could go to prison
for life.
Two of his co-defendants
also pleaded not guilty today to the
same charges.
Prosecutors contend the incident
was an armed robbery, but simpson
claims he was merely trying to recover
items that belonged to him.
