Just before 1:00 o'clock, the suspect
entered the shop, showed a weapon, and
demanded guns. Police say at one point
there was an altercation, and the clerk
was shot.
The suspect then apparently ran out of
the shop, dropping some of the stolen
guns in the parking lot. Police believe
there was a lookout man outside the
shop, although investigators do not
have a detailed description of him.
Ronokae Police are looking for a white
mini-van with a green or a teal stripe
at the bottom. We're also told the mini
van has front end damage. Police are
not saying whether that was the getaway
vehicle.

in Botetourt and Rockbridge Counties
were hoping for more rain and calmer
conditions, but they didn't get either
today...

Sunday The fire in the Smith Flats area
of the George Washington National
Forest started on Saturday.
At last check- it had engulfed
700-acres and is 50-percent contained.
Crews aren't just battling the
fire, but also rocky and steep terrain,
plus strong wind gusts.
The cause of the fire is still
under investigation.
At this point, no homes are in
danger.

since his daughter s birth he had
turned his life around.

and a judge ordered he be held on

cash bail. He also ordered a
psychiatric evaluation.
As Eisenberg watched impassively by
way of a video hookup, the judge said
he wants to make sure he "doesn't go
anywhere until he is dealt with
properly."

Eisenberg allegedly took hostages on
Friday, showing them what he said was a
bomb strapped to his chest. Authorities
say it turned out to be road flares.

GRAPHIC=ODAC The Roanoke College Maroons men's
basketball team had an eventful
weekend.
On Saturday, a buzzer beater
helped the team beat Virginia Wesleyan
and then yesterday Randolph Macon
handed Roanoke its first loss of the
season - dropping Page Moir's team to 4
and 1.
Still,it's a much better start
than Roanoke experienced last season
when the Maroons dropped seven of their
first 8 games.

American Idol finalists in trouble, the
latest candidate is Jessica Siera.
She's charged with disorderly
intoxication, resisting arrest, felony
battery, and cocaine possession.

VO-NAT Here's Siera's mug shot, and it's not
her first. In November, she was
sentenced to 12 months probation and
random drug screening after being
accused of hitting a man on the head
with a glass at a nightclub.
*CG locator Tampa, FL Siera was arraigned over the weekend on
the latest charges. The police report
also states Sierra offered oral sex to
the police officer if he would let her
go - and used a barrage of racial slurs
at the scene, on the way to jail and at
the jail.
