(END SOT) A new report shows the nation's doctors

don't practice what they preach.

(VO)

The Annals of Internal Medicine says
nearly HALF of all doctors admit
they've failed to report colleagues who
make serious medical mistakes -- even
though the vast majority agree such
mistake should be reported.

More than 30 percent of doctors refuse
to treat patients who can't pay.

(VO)

Plump babies may really be happier
people.

That's according Canadian and British
researchers.

They say their 40-year study of medical
records shows infants who had a low
birth weight were more likely to have
depression and anxiety later in life.

(VO)

And .. GOOD news for parents looking
replace recently recalled cold remedies
for kids.

Researchers say a teaspoon of honey
before bed seems to calm childrens'
coughs and help them sleep better.

(ON CAM)

Those are some of today's top medical
stories.

I'm Meg Oliver, CBS News, New York.

West Virginia and parts of Virginia COMM tonight. This may provide a few
rain/snow shower. As a result of the
speed and the amount of dry air, little
snow accumulation is expected for most
areas. Look for a cold Wednesday
though, with highs only reaching the
low 40s. Thursday remains dry, but a
warm ridge will set-up by the weekend.
This will push temperatures well into
the 60s, and block most storms from
