trk: Across the country - American's

(HYP GAS 08:20:38)
NATS: THE GAS PRICES - $3.19 - THAT'S
OUTRAGEOUS
trk: Be it at the gas station or right
at home with heating oil - crude oil
prices are pushing the cost of living
through the roof.
(GARY LEWIS / CONSUMER 08:19:08)
IT IS REALLY HARD TO MAKE ENDS MEET
WHEN GAS PRICES ARE GOING UP THIS HIGH
LIKE THIS
Comsumers Like Gary - aren't the only
ones taking notice of the high flying
prices... some of the biggest movers
and shakers in the oil producing world
are expected to offer a reprieve of
sorts and increase output - which
should
drop realted prices here in the U.S.
(LEO DROLLAS/CHIEF ECONOMIST, CENTER
FOR GLOBAL ENERGY STUDIES)
14:36:52 - THE DECISIONS ARE IMPORTANT
OF COURSE, BECAUSE THEY RUBBER STAMP
WHAT'S GOING ON - BUT WE MUSTN'T TAKE
THE WHOLE OPERATION THAT SERIOUSLY.
The "operation" being referred to
revolves around the Organization of
Petroleum Exporting Countries meeting
this week in the United Arab Emirates.
And although the 12 oil producing
nations that make up OPEC are
gathering....
it's the Saudi contingecy which
controlls 25% of the world's reserves -
that
really calls the shots...
(LEO DROLLAS/CHIEF ECONOMIST, CENTER
FOR GLOBAL ENERGY STUDIES) 14:36:12
saudi arabia - because of its huge
excess capacity - can unilaterally do
what
it wants behind the scenes. It has been
increasing output since the summer.
On cam close: Ahead of the meeting -
oil prices have dropped about $10 in
the
last week - based on the belief that
OPEC will decide to boost production.
But
because prices have dropped - experts
worry if the oil ministers will want
the
prices to drop any lower.

High levels of calcium in the blood of

Local charities have the extra
burden this year of making sure needy
children do not receive any recalled
toys that have been donated.
Salvation Army volunteers are
being trained to inspect the toys.
To make the process easier,
donors are asked not to wrap the gifts
they give.
And police in Pulaski are looking
for suspects involved in a home

The police have named two
suspects, Marques Bakaitis -- who's
already in custody -- and Marcus
