Morva is the Blacksburg man
accused of killing a security guard and
a deputy in Montgomery County nearly a
year and a half ago.

August 2006 Judge Ray Grubbs signed the order
:00 this week. Grubbs tried to seat a jury
in September for Morva's capital murder
trial but decided to move the case.
We've been waiting for months to
find out where.
The trial is expected to last two
weeks in Abingdon.
If convicted William Morva could
be sentenced to death.
He's accused of gunning down a
Corporal with the Sheriff's Department
and a security officer at Montgomery
Regional Hospital when he escaped
police custody in August of 2006.
His escape lead to a 37 hour
manhunt that paralyzed the town of
Blacksburg and shut down the Virginia
Tech campus on the first day of
classes.

Virginia Tech and the hospital are two
of the largest employers in this area.
Many lives were affected back in August
of 2006.

robbery of a Henry County gun store
last month. Now authorities have
captured the suspects.
Maryland residents Ronald Ganeous
(GAIN-US) and Timothy Jackson Junior
are accused of stealing dozens of
weapons from the Southern Gun Store in
Collinsville.
The two are charged with federal
armed robbery and several firearms
charges.

his death at Virginia Military
Institute this afternoon.
The man was working on the new
barracks when he fell. some witnesses
say the feall was about 40 feet... but
what caused the fall.. vmi says THAT'S
still under investigation.
The man was a subcontractor
working for Nielson Construction out of
Harrisonburg. His name has not been
released.

nothing unusual, according to the
Roanoke County school system.
The results were released this
afternoon in an email. In the
statement, Superintendent Lorraine
Lange said the results "did not find
any unusual conditions in the air,
water or soil."

firms checked for everything from
carbon monoxide to herbicides. The
companies also tested drinking water,
various indoor surfaces and outside

Robin Reed in the SkyTracker7 Forecast
Center. Thursday evening will be
mostly clear, but high level clouds
will stream in late as a front
approaches from the west. It'll be
cold once again with widespread 20s.
As a ridge develops across the
southeastern United States Friday and
through the weekend, we'll see a big
warm up. Highs are forecast near 50
Friday, mid 50s Saturday, and in the
60s Sunday. Skies will be fairly cloudy
during that time, with moisture just to
our west in West Virginia and Kentucky.
Our next best chance of rain really
doesn't arrive until early next week.

is from Winston-Salem.
Where last year's A-C-C Champions
will be retaining their Head Coach.

VO-NAT Jim Grobe will be staying with
the Demon Deacons instead of heading to
Arkansas to take the Razorbacks job.
Grobe called his Athletic
Director and told him that he wanted to
continue as the Wake Forest Head Coach.
He has led the Deacs to a 45 and
39 record in his 7 Seasons including a
second straight Bowl appearance this
year after going 8 and 4.
The Back to Back Post-season
trips is the first time that has
happened in school history.
After winning last season's
conference Title Grobe signed a ten
year extension.

second loss to Buffalo at home on
Sunday. They then flew to Miami to be
at Sean Taylor's Funeral.

Bears back at Fedex Field with only one
day of practice.

in major League baseball and for the
first time in his career Andruw Jones
will be suiting up for someone other
than the Atlanta Braves.

taking his game to the West Coast and
the Los Angeles Dodgers, agreeing to a
2 year 36 million dollar deal.
Jones though is coming off his
worst offensive season in the Major
Leagues since his rookie year. Andruw
batted just 222 for the Braves last
season.

GRAPHIC=Atlantis An astronaut from Lynchburg will have
to wait until at least tomorrow before
his trip to space.

VO-NAT NASA had to postpone today's launch of
the space shuttle Atlantis this
morning.
Crews discovered a problem with a
gauge in an external fuel tank.
Lynchburg native Leland Melvin is a
member of the Atlantis crew.
Earlier today astronaut Mark Foale
told us that crew members are probably
relieved that the mission was scrubbed
so early.
