Indicted by a federal grand jury
last spring....Vick first claimed to be
innocent.
He changed his plea in August
after three of his co- defendants-- old
friends from Newport News-- lined up to
testify against him.

the illegal dog fighting operation of
Bad Newz Kennels and taking dogs across
state lines to fight them.
The day he pled guilty he
apologized to his fans - especially the
kids who look up to him as a role

out what sparked flames at a home in
Roanoke county this evening...

Crews got there and found heavy
smoke throughout the home on View
Avenue -- that's in Southwest County.
Apparently the fire started in
the back of the house.
The homeowner did have to go to
the hospital, but it was because he had
forgotten to take his medicine.

damage the fire caused to the home.

two churches in Colorado.

Sunday. Police say a man in a black
trench
coat walked in just after midnight
asking for a place to sleep. When he
was
turned away, he pulled out a handgun.

unfortunately four people were injured
as a result of that and transported to
an area hospital.
Two of the injured, 26-year-old Tiffany
Johnson of Minnesota and 24-year-old
Philip Crouse of Alaska later died.
Despite fresh snow on the ground,
police
were unable to track the shooter.

12 hours later, gunfire rang out again.
This time, 65 miles south, in Colorado
Springs. Five people were shot in the
parking lot of one of Colorado s
largest
churches. One of them did not survive.
A quick-thinking security guard fired
the shot that ended the melee, killing
the gunman.

were on site at the time of the
shooting. About a hundred remained
inside the church when police locked

dead after an early morning fight
outside a nighclub in Blacksburg.

Cory Deon Allison of Welch was
leaving "Attitudes Bar and Cafe" on
Prices Fork Road just before two A-M.
That's when investigators say the
28-year-old got into a fight with
several people outside the bar.
During the struggle - Allison was

stomach and the leg.
He was taken to Roanoke Memorial
Hospital where he died.

He's in custody at the Montgomery

the past few weeks.

November 13, 2007 involved Virginia Tech football player
Steven Friday.
Friday was arrested and suspended
for one game after taking part in a
brawl outside a downtown bar.
Police say there were also about

incident, authorities say someone shot
up star defense back Macho Harris'
apartment.

on a high speed chase that topped
speeds of a 100 miles per hour and left
the get-away driver in the hospital.
A deputy from Henry County says
the driver drove-off from Fast Mart in
Collinsville and tried to out run
police, and even made it into Franklin
County.
The female suspect wound up
crashing about a half mile across the
county line -- she was thrown from the
car and airlifted to the hospital.
No word on her condition.

Thomas of Vinton ran off the road, hit

seven last night in Bedford County
The 45-year-old was driving on

Memorial and died about an hour later.
