from the New Hampshire primary roll in
and right now here's what we can tell
you......

Just a few moments ago...the
Associated Press called it for Hillary
Clinton....it's been a close battle all
night between Clinton and Barack
Obama.....

Not so close on the Republican
side.....Just 15 minutes after New
Hampshire's polls closed...they called
it for John McCain.

Barack was hoping for another big
win, Clinton hoping to avoid another
embarassment....Agencies are reporting
even Clinton's staff was surprised by
her winning numbers....

As far as turnout, we've been
talking about the interest in this
race...including young voters...New
Hampshire officials calling the voter
turnout very high.....even possibly
setting a new record.

It's estimated there could be as
many as half a million ballots
cast.....

The previous record of just under
400-thousand ballots cast was set in
2000.

Voting was especially strong in
Manchester and Nashua -- the state's
two largest cities.

Officials also predicting a
record for voters registering at the
polls, which has been allowed in the
state for the last three primaries.

police fired shots in the western town
of Kisumu (KISS-OO-MOO), which happens
to be one of Roanoke's sister
cities....

Opposition leaders accuse Kibaki
of stealing the election and
undermining attempts to mediate an
agreement to help end a crisis that has
left more than 500 people dead.

Now, on a side note, Kibaki
claims he and Barack Obama share a
great uncle....meantime in the Kenyan
village Obama's father grew up in,
relatives are cheering him on, hoping
he takes over the White House.

Joe Gibbs called it quits after four
years in his second term as the
Redskins' leader.

Stevens, has covered Coach Gibbs during
both of his stints in D-C in the past
23 yearsand he now joins us.

Natasha, when Joe Gibbs returned
to football in 2004 and signed a $27
and a half million dollar five year
contract, the hope was that he could
rekindle the winning fires that burned
so brightly back in the 80s and early
90s.

31-and-36, including 1 win and 2 losses
in the playoffs in his second turn in
DCTERMS.

But in the end it wasn't about
the record - but rather about family.

Gibbs and his wife Pat now have
seven grandchildren and another one on
the way - one of those Taylor was
diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic
leukemia last year and the 67 year old
Gibbs says it simply time to put family
first.

jail.

in court today for sentencing on credit
card fraud charges.

Commonwealth's Attorney Joel
Branscom told some of the victims the
sentencing guidelines called for
probation and that it was unlikely
Hudgins would do time.

Hudgins testified his Botetourt
Travel agency had never made a profit.

Though he made restitution this
morning, and said he was sorry, the
judge ordered him to serve three months
in jail and perform 50 hours of
community service.

She's accused of embezzling
money...

Henrietta McHeimer was indicted
yesterday on several counts.

Court documents show she stole
money over a two year period which is a

reckless driving charges after a his

semi lost a battle with a locomotive
this afternoon.

Now investigators are
looking into what caused a train and
truck to collide along some railroad
tracks off of Diuguids (doo-gits)
Lane.

one o'clock..

According to police in Salem, the
truck driver was crossing the tracks
when the gates came down- trapping him
in the middle.

While the cab of the truck
cleared the tracks, the trailer did
not.

Redskins again today.

And just like in 1992 - the
reasons are family related - although
they are hardly the same.

In '92 Gibbs left to start Joe
Gibbs Racing with sons J.D. and Cody.

Now 15 years later, Gibbs and his
wife Pat have 7 grand kids and another

one on the way and one those three year
old Taylor has acute lymphoblastic
leukemia.

As many of you know Gibbs is a
man of faith, but one with an amazing
passion to win.

During his newsconference today
Gibbs exhibited the humility that has
been his trademark throughout his time
in DCTERMS.
