Branden Ore testifies in a federal drug

He was a witness in the case of
Tony Majette muh-JET ...who's on trial
for possession of cocaine with intent
to distribute.
Majette claims the drugs belonged
to Ore, that he was just taking the
star football player to meet up with
another guy to buy more drugs.
Ore told the jury he had no idea
the coke was in the car, until they got
pulled over by police... that Majette
pulled a baggie out of his pocket,
tossed it in his lap and he brushed it
aside.
Ore has NOT been charged with any
crime.

police officers recovered from a
massive warehouse fire last week in
Southeast Roanoke.

They got a warrant and
discovered seven guns there as well...
At least one of them was loaded.
They also found a lot of

accused of trying to lure young girls
into his car in the Lexington area.
According to The Rockbridge
County Sheriff's Office s some joggers
spotted a man near a bus stop earlier
this week- this was in a rural area off
Furrs Mill Road, about a mile north of
Route 11.
The vehicle matched the
description from the previous incidents
in Lexington last month.

rain-maker. Rain showers will
overspread the region from the
Mississippi Valley early Thursday
morning. In a few of the deeper
valleys, at or below freezing
temperatures may cause a bit of
freezing rain at the onset. The
freezing rain threat would be
short-lived, as highs reach the mid
40s. Periods of heavy rain are possible
late Thursday night and early Friday as
a cold front moves to the east. Some
areas west of the Roanoke Valley could
get around 1.00" of much needed rain
Friday and Saturday are dry and partly
sunny. Highs are forecast in the low to
mid 50s. An area of low pressure is
forecast to develop off the Carolina
coast during the day Saturday, and
depending on the exact track, it could
bring some rain or snow showers Sunday
and Sunday night. We'll keep monitoring

next season.
There is no doubt that
Tharrington and Campbell are talented,
but both are versatile as well

the best basketball knowledge of
anyone, Emily Dunton is the daugher of
former liberty Flames Head Coach Randy
Dunton and sometimes she will be the

The combination of talent and
coaching could take the Bees a long way
into the post-season, they already own
a win over Defending State Champion
Hidden Valley this season, due in large
part to a different attitude than last
season when they lost to the Titans.

home at the Bast Center opening up a
six game homestand as they welcomed
Christopher Newport University to Salem
for a non-conference battle against the
USA South members.

first three day test session of the
so-called off-season wrapped up today
for a large group of Sprint Cup series
drivers.
Many of those at the World Center
of Racing today were still talking
about Joe Gibbs' retirement from
football and his return to racing.
It's something Gibbs' new Young
Gun Kyle Busch sees a major plus.

Defensive end Nekos Brown had
surgery on his right knee this week but
he will be available for spring
practice. Center Ryan Shuman had work
done on his left knee but will take the
entire spring off to rehabilitate it.

Tigers have lost three players - but

opting to forgo his senior season in
favor of the NFL Draft.
Davis rushed for more than
a thousand yards in both his sophomore
and junior seasons.
Tommy Bowden is also
apparently losing his top receiver

waters. Kelly was a first team all ACC
selection this past season.
Phillip Merling will join
his teammates. The talented defensive
end is a projected second round
selection.

putting their dead friend in a chair,
wheeling him down the streets of New
York City, to the Pay-O-Matic so they
could cash his social security check.
