in a car crash this morning in Carroll
County.

Even though authorities say he
was pretty banged up, he crawled out of
the vehicle and asked witnesses to take

the Roanoke Civic Center. Thousands of
people are out here to see about a half
dozen acts. Some of them well known,
some of them not so well known. One of
the more popular acts is "Mercy Me."
They've been touring all over the
country for years. Also, Mandisa - she
was a contestant on a recent season of
American Idol. But this is also a
chance for some lesser known acts to
get some exposure. We talked with one
band member who says this has been a

the band "Conner's Vine."
Until recently, he was playing in
coffeehouses, but he says Winter Jam is

abuse, authorities say a small child's
body has washed up on shore after the
dad is said to have tossed the child
and three other sibling off a bridge in
Alabama.

A duck hunter ran across the
decomposed body this morning.
Searchers are using sonar
equipment to try and track down the
other three kids.
Police say the father originally
confessed to throwing the kids - which
range from four month to
three-year's-old - off an 80 foot
bridge Monday because he got in a fight

But later, after he spoke with a
lawyer, police say he took back his
confession.

Sunday calls for mostly cloudy skies
and a few light rain showers as an area
of low pressure forms off the North
Carolina coast, while another
disturbance drops in from the Ohio
Valley. There was talk earlier in the
week of the possibility of some light
snow, but it doesn't look like that's
in the cards as temperatures will
simply be too warm. Highs are forecast
in the mid 40s (much cooler) Sunday.
There will be mountain snow showers
develop Sunday night (higher elevations
of the NRV, Highlands and the
Greenbrier). These will likely continue
on the ridge tops through Monday -
maybe even into Tuesday. While most of
us won't see any snow, a northwest flow
of wind will put the big chill on the
entire region for the upcoming coming
week with highs near 40 and lows in the
20s.

already going to be depleted by
graduation next season, but the news
got a little worse this evening with
the news that cornerback Victor "Macho"
Harris will pass up his senior season
for the NFL.

Flowers annouced his plans to leave
school early.
Harris is projected to be a 2nd
to 3rd round pick. He tallied 5
interceptions this season and added
nearly 40 tackles. He was also
expected to be the Hokies primary kick
returner next season.
The Richmond native and Highland
Springs grad has until Tuesday to
officially declare for the April Draft.

assistant coach Jim Cavanaugh who
played at William and Mary will apply

broad daylight, using a fake gun
instead of real one...

paperwork and walked out with 370
