A toddler found injured on the
side of a road is in critical condition
tonight.
A vehicle struck the two year old
boy this morning in Madison Heights..
and the driver just kept on going.

morning- police were called to the
intersection of Triple Oak Circle and
Seminole Drive in Madison Heights.
Many drivers including Debbie
Ayers thought they saw a doll on the
side of the road.
Finally someone turned around and
found it wasn't a doll at all, but a
little boy.

The 2-year old boy lives in the
nearby Williow Branch Apartments with
his family.
Investigators say he got out of
the house without his parents knowing.
No one has surrendered to police
at this point, but the state police say
they found smashed headlight-glass at
the scene and are working from there.

seen this kind of damage to a vehicle
to report it to the Amherst County
Sheriff's Office or the state police.

Investigators are calling a
double shooting in Carroll County a
murder-suicide.

The Sheriff's Office got a call
around One this morning about a
shooting at a home on Flinthill Road in
the Cana section of the county.
Police found Brandy O'Neal dead
with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Her ex-husband, Kevin O'Neal died
at the hospital from a gunshot wound to
the head.
Investigators believe Kevin took
his children to his parents house and
then shot Brandy when she came to HIS
house to pick up the kids.

People have reported seeing the
man accused of killing a pregnant
Marine in Louisiana.

Say-zar Laur-ee-on Cesar Laurean at a
bus station.
Meanwhile authorities in North
Carolina are offering $25- thousand
dollar reward for information that
leads to Laurean's arrest.
Laurean had earlier been accused of
raping fellow marine Maria Lauterbach.
She disappeared last month, after
meeting with military prosecutors to
talk about the allegation.
What is believed to be her burned
body was found in Laurean's yard last
week.

A massive avalanche has claimed the
lives of two people in Montana.

It is not known how many people are
still missing.
The avalanche began high on the
mountain and was several hundred feet

coastal low that continues to
move its way up the Eastern seaboard
this evening, bringing a chance of
heavy snow to portions of New England
through early tomorrow morning. The
storm dumped up to a foot of snow on
portions of southern New England
earlier today and will now focus its
business on eastern Maine.
Anywhere from 10 to 15 inches of
fresh snow could fall by the time the
storm winds down tonight.
Last week, these same areas were
experiencing the same mild air that we
were, even flirting with record high
temperatures.

Center. Look for predominately
mountain snow showers this evening. A
few may make it over the mountains into
the NRV and Roanoke Valleys, but won't
amount to much.Another cold front will
arrive Tuesday, bringing in a second
kick of cold air and a few more
mountain snow showers. These may make
it as far east as the Highlands,
producing a half inch of snow. We'll
monitor thisand have an
update.Wednesday, high pressure will
dominate the region with sunshine and
tranquil conditions, before another

Blacksburg where the Hokies big
freshman Jeff Allen has picked up one
of the ACC's weekly honors.

rebounds, five steals, three blocked
shots and made the game-winning free
throw with 12.4 seconds left to play as
Virginia Tech posted a 67-66
come-from-behind victory over Maryland
on Saturday.
For the week, the Washington,
D.C., freshman averaged 14 points, 10
rebounds, 3.5 steals, 2.5 blocked shots
and 2.0 assists in Tech's two wins.
The Hokies travel to
Charlottesville on Wednesday night for
a seven o'clock tip against the
Virginia Cavaliers. The two teams
split during the regular season last
year.

Actor Wesley Snipes could face more
than 15 years in prison if he is
convicted of income tax fraud.

A trial began today for Snipes and
two co-defendents in Ocala, Florida.
Prosecutors say Snipes stopped paying
taxes, then fraudulently claimed eleven
million dollars in refunds, all based
on a fringe argument.
Snipes and co-defendants say that the
federal government has no authority to
tax domestic wages because of a
perceived loophole in IRS code.
Snipes claims he was given bad advice
and he was fooled into thinking he
didn't have to pay income taxes.
