of Roanoke Senator John Edwards bill
that will be heard by the Senate
Education and Health subcommittee.

He wants the state superintendent
to come up with guidelines to eliminate
foods containing trans fatty acids from
public schools.

That would include foods sold in
vending machines.

Should abortion clinics meet the
same requirements as emergency rooms?

The state Senate has said no for
several years now.

Delegate Matt Lohr will try again
this year.

His bill applies to clinics that
perform 25- or more abortions a year.

But it's also drawing interest
from a few unlikely sources.

alternative to so-called payday loans.

Some hope these new choices will
persuade state legislators to get tough
on payday lenders also known as legal
loan sharks.

for playing down King's legacy but

insists she was taken out of context

becoming an issue now. Black voters

expected to make up more than half of

caused a big fire at the Royster-Clark
Fertilizer Plant in Lynchburg.

The fire is under control now,
but that wasn't case last night.

flames were visible for miles.

The building is a few miles from
Liberty University on Mayflower Drive.

We understand that no one was
inside at that time, but one
firefighter was taken to the hospital

scene, but authorities say there is no
threat to the public at this time.

local church has come to an end with
the dedication of a new organ.

Lexington Presbyterian Church
debuted its new pipe organ during
Sunday services.

*CG locator Lexington The old organ was destroyed by July 2000 fire in the summer of 2000.

Since that time, the church has
been using a borrowed organ from
another congregation.

But thanks to donations from
parishioners and the community, the
church is once again able to enjoy an
organ of its own.

over the Thanksgiving holiday that left
two Lynchburg College basketball
players seriously hurt and killed the
dad of one of those players.

Sean Sutherland survived.

He's back in school and while

Botetourt High School has just written
and published her first book titled
"Fifth Moon."

The book started out as a school
assignment in the 7th grade.

Four hundred and 76 pages later,
she has a fantasy filled with 70
characters including unicorns, Japanese
Chin, and the Lox.

Wilson hopes other teens take
their cue from her and realize their
never too young to go after their
dream.

7:30 last night.

Lydia Wilson, a senior at Lord
Botetourt High School has just written
and published her first book titled
"Fifth Moon."

The book started out as a school
assignment in the 7th grade.

Four hundred and 76 pages later,
she has a fantasy filled with 70
characters including unicorns, Japanese
Chin, and the Lox.

Wilson hopes other teens take
their cue from her and realize their
never too young to go after their
dream.
