Mitt Romney expects Super Tuesday to be
earth-shaking.
(SOT MITT ROMNEY): "SOMETHING BIG IS
HAPPENING IN CALIFORNIA!!!" (crowd
roars)
He better hope so. Polls show the
state's republican race tightening but
nationwide John McCain still enjoys a
sizeable lead.
The Romney camp acknowledges a Super
Tuesday sweep is not gonna happen.
Instead they're hoping to buy enough
time for conservatives to mobilize
against McCain - who's always had a
tense relationship with the right wing
of
the party.
(NATSOT McCain rally audience off-cam):
"WE BELIEVE IN YOU JOHN!"
(MCCAIN): "ATTA BOY!"
Meanwhile McCain's working to convince
voters he CAN unite the party....and
trying to put the Romney campaign in
the ground.
(SOT JOHN MCCAIN): "I'M PROUD OF MY
RECORD IN THE SENATE AS A STRONG
CONSERVATIVE AND I KNOW PEOPLE WILL
EXAMINE GOVERNOR ROMNEY'S."
(Joel Brown/Stand-Up/New York City)
THE STAKES DON'T GET MUCH HIGHER THAN
THIS. NEARLY HALF THE STATES ARE
VOTING
TODAY...PICKING MORE THAN 40-PERCENT
OF THE DELEGATES FOR THE
CONVENTIONS....AND ALL THE CANDIDATES
ARE WORKING OVERTIME.
(SOT HILLARY CLINTON Late Show with
David Letterman courtesy Worldwide
Pants):
"I GET INTO A PLANE OR A CAR AND TRY
TO CATCH SOME SLEEP, BECAUSE I'M NOT
GETTING MUCH OF IT."
After getting a sympathy vote from
David Letterman (laughs), Hillary
Clinton
took her own turn as talk show-host....
Holding a broadcast town meeting to
take questions from around the country.
Her campaign paid for the televised
forum.
(SOT BARACK OBAMA): "I'M GONNA BRING IT
ON HOME NOW."
Despite polls showing him neck-and-neck
with the former First Lady, Barack
Obama relishes the underdog role. This
democratic contest is so close - it's
not a battle for states - it's a fight
for delegates. And one that doesn't
look to be ending anytime soon.

VO-NAT Congress is getting a look at what is
the largest budget in U-S history.
With social programs taking a backseat
to the military and national security,
Democrats are ready for a fight.
Over the coming years the plan takes
nearly 200 billion dollars in savings
from Medicare and Medicaid. AND this
year the deficit will soar to a near
record 410 billion dollars.
The administration says that's
partly explained by the big stimulus
package to bail out an economy
teetering on recession.
If you're trying to comprehend
three trillion dollars.. if a
taxpayer was given a million dollars a
year to spend.. it would take nearly
three million years to spend the
budget.

A significant number of people
were let go on Friday at Findlay
Industries in Dublin.
The company makes 95-percent of
the insides to Volvo trucks.
The plant manager did not want to
say how many were let go, but normally
143 people work here and the parking
lot was almost empty today.
The manager says all of the
workers will get their jobs back when

VO-NAT Congress is getting a look at what is
the largest budget in U-S history.
With social programs taking a backseat
to the military and national security,
Democrats are ready for a fight.
Over the coming years the plan takes
nearly 200 billion dollars in savings
from Medicare and Medicaid. AND this
year the deficit will soar to a near
record 410 billion dollars.
The administration says that's
partly explained by the big stimulus
package to bail out an economy
teetering on recession.
If you're trying to comprehend
three trillion dollars.. if a
taxpayer was given a million dollars a
year to spend.. it would take nearly
three million years to spend the
budget.
