kmcbroom@wdbj7.com A car accident claimed the life
of a Franklin County teenager.

It happened last night around
10:40 on Route 122 about two miles
north of Rocky Mount.

Police say the driver ran off the
road and struck some trees.

The driver, a 17-year-old girl
from Moneta, died at the scene.

Police say she was wearing her
seatbelt and alcohol does not appear to
be a factor.

They are still trying to
determine the cause.

This democratic contest looks like it
might be a race all the way to the

convention.

(SOT BARACK OBAMA): "THERE IS ONE THING

ON THIS FEBRUARY NIGHT WE DON'T NEED

THE FINAL RESULTS TO KNOWN' -- OUR TIME
HAS COME."

Super Tuesday saw Hillary Clinton and
Barack Obama battle essentially to a

draw. She scored the bigger wins -
California and New York - and has the
edge

in delegates, but Obama won more
contests.

They largely split delegates in state
after state....And when the night

closed, neither candidate was willing
to declare victory.

(SOT HILLARY CLINTON): "I LOOK FORWARD

TO CONTINUING OUR CAMPAIGN AND OUR

DEBATE."

(nats McCain)

John McCain says he's the underdog no
longer.

(SOT JOHN MCCAIN): "I THINK WE MUST GET

USED TO THE IDEA THAT WE ARE THE

REPUBLICAN PARTY FRONT-RUNNER FOR THE
NOMINATION." (crowd nat)

Big wins from Connecticut to California
add up to a commanding lead for the

Arizona senator....And a crushing blow
for Mitt Romney. Despite being

overpowered, he says he's not hanging
it up anytime soon.

(SOT MITT ROMNEY): "WE'RE GONNA KEEP ON

BATTLING. WE'RE GONNA GO ALL THE WAY

TO THE CONVENTION, WIN THIS THING, AND
WE'RE GONNA GET IN THE WHITE HOUSE!"

(crowd)

Romney's loss was largely Mike
Huckabee's gain. The former Arkansas
governor

won his home state and four other
southern contests.

(nats)

Romney had called on him to drop out of
the race to avoid JUST this

scenario...and the question remains how
long Mitt Romney can afford to keep

funding a campaign that appears to be
running out of steam.
