headlight, papers with the name
"Jeffrey M. Young, an impression of the
stain area, three pills and the hood of
the jeep.
With a second search warrant
served on the Roanoke County Schools,
investigators picked up video from
nearby security cameras at Cave Spring
Elementary School, Cave Spring Middle
School and Penn Forest Elementary.
Police requested video from
midnight to six am on the day runner
Tom Farrell was struck and killed on
Springlawn Avenue.
Investigators say it's possible
that images from those cameras may show
the suspect vehicle travelling to or

I've lived in states that don't
require regular state inspections.

Virginia is one of just FOURTEEN states
that makes you get your vehicle checked
EVERY year.
Our closest neighbors- -North
Carolina and West Virginia- -are among
those states that require annual safety
inspections.
Four more states- -plus the District
of Columbia- -require inspections every
TWO years.
Eleven others require emission
inspections- -but do not require you to
get a mechanic to check the tires,
brakes, steering, etc.
Maryland requires it only
when the vehicle is sold. So, before
you can sell a car in Maryland- -new or
used- -it's got to be inspected, but
only then.
The nearest states that have no
safety inspection program are Tennessee
and South Carolina.
Police can still issue a summons
in such places, if the car doesn't have

Safety Board investigation concludes it
was pilot error that caused a small
plane to hit some power lines and
crash.

Shuler says he'll now work to get
that bill through the House.

Robin Reed in the SkyTracker7 Forecast
Center. The rest of the afternoon:
Dry air returns with mostly to partly
sunny skies. It will remain breezy with
highs in the 40s and 50s. A quick
disturbance moving to our north will
bring clouds to the region Thursday
night. A few flurries are possible in
the highest elevations, as temperatures
fall to the low 30s. Winds will
diminish. We're back to partly sunny
skies Friday with highs returning to
the mid 50s. Winds will be light from
the southwest. Another piece of energy
heads toward us Friday night. Once
again, moisture will be limited,
however, a few flurries or sprinkles
can't be ruled out. Most of the lift
associated with this system will stay
to our north. Lows are forecast in the
upper 30s. Saturday looks partly sunny
with only a slight chance of a shower
(20%). It will be breezy at times with
highs near 50. Then - get ready for a
big change! Saturday night a front will
blast through the area. Winds will
increase and overnight lows will fall
into the 20s. Sunday will feature
sharply colder temperatures (highs only
in the mid 30s!), a brisk northwest
wind and mountain snow showers in West
Virginia, the Highlands and possibly
the New River Valley. After a cold
Sunday night/Monday morning,
temperatures begin moderating early in
the week with mostly sunny skies as
high pressure remains in control.

more than ski resorts. Today on Beyond
the Forecast, Meteorologist Brent Watts
heads to the Highlands for a lesson in
snow-making.

INQ=Animation begins...
the big guns are firing once again at
the Homestead Ski Resort. At over 3700
feet, a typical winter brings around
50inches of natural snow, but not over
the past few years. To get that much
snow on this much land takes just the
right weather. Oddly enough, the colder
and "drier" the air, the better the
snow. Water that eventually becomes
snow is piped in from a nearby pond. It
is pressurized and pumped to the guns,
which use compressed air to blow the
water outward. Since the air is dry,
the water evaporates and cools even
more into ice crystals and finally
snowflakes. The transformation happens
almost as soon as the water hits the
air. It takes around 75,000 gallons of
water to create a 6-inch blanket of
snow covering a 200 square ft area. >>

"deeply concerned" about her safety now
that she's been released from a
psychiatric ward.
They say the release was AGAINST
the advice of her doctor.

paparazzi to catch up with the troubled
pop singer in her car yesterday.
Every time her vehicle stopped, it
was swarmed by photographers.
The commander of the North Hollywood

intervention-- but city officials say
that may change.
