hood, paint chips, the passenger side
headlight, papers with the name
"Jeffrey M. Young, an impression of the
stain area, three pills and the hood of
the jeep.


With a second search warrant


served on the Roanoke County Schools,
investigators picked up video from
nearby security cameras at Cave Spring
Elementary School, Cave Spring Middle
School and Penn Forest Elementary.


Police requested video from
midnight to six am on the day runner
Tom Farrell was struck and killed on
Springlawn Avenue.


Investigators say it's possible
that images from those cameras may show
the suspect vehicle travelling to or
from the crash.

128 man accused of killing three Christmas
Tree farmers in Grayson County last
month.

VO NAT It turns out Frederick Hammer has
a lengthy criminal past.


In October, 19-78, at the age of
18, he was accused of carjacking,
robbing and beating a Philadelphia
police officer to death.


While he was quickly caught and
convicted, he did NOT stay in jail and
after an appeals court overturned the
conviction, a second jury acquitted
Hammer.


At the time, Philadelphia
newspapers reported that as he waited
for his second murder trial - he
escaped prison and later served 9 years
for robbery and burglary-- crimes he


committed while on the run.

skies Friday with highs returning to
the mid 50s. Winds will be light from
the southwest. Another piece of energy
heads toward us Friday night. Once

however, a few flurries or sprinkles

associated with this system will stay
to our north. Lows are forecast in the
upper 30s. Saturday looks partly sunny

soon become a reality.

and an indoor walking track...as well
as several pools.

life.

being rewarded for their generosity
yesterday.

The school won the annual "Toy
Mountain" contest, collecting Christmas
toys for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots
campaign sponsored by Star Country
Radio.


The annual contest pits area high

participating, but collected, a
whopping seven hundred forty-six toys
total.

Opponents say carbon monoxide
detectors aren't reliable.


Delegate Shuler says something is

residents at a Blacksburg apartment

charged with kidnapping and custodial
interference.


Federal Marshals say the Duncans
took off from Atlanta with their now
5-year-old granddaughter four years
ago.


They've been living as fugitives
at a house on Wise Street in Lynchburg.

Center. We're back to partly sunny
skies Friday with highs returning to
the mid 50s. Winds will be light from
the southwest. Another piece of energy
heads toward us Friday night. Once
again, moisture will be limited,
however, a few flurries or sprinkles
can't be ruled out. Most of the lift
associated with this system will stay
to our north. Lows are forecast in the
upper 30s. Saturday looks partly sunny
with only a slight chance of a shower
(20%). It will be breezy at times with
highs near 50. Then - get ready for a
big change! Saturday night a front will
blast through the area. Winds will
increase and overnight lows will fall
into the 20s. Sunday will feature
sharply colder temperatures (highs only
in the mid 30s!), a brisk northwest
wind and mountain snow showers in West
Virginia, the Highlands and possibly
the New River Valley. After a cold


Sunday night/Monday morning,
temperatures begin moderating early in
the week with mostly sunny skies as
