hold an event also on Sunday afternoon

at the end of May.
During her five year tenure, Boyd

exhibit hall, the renovation of the
concourse inside the coliseum, as well

Arts Theatre.
When it comes to entertainment,
Boyd is most proud of bringing the
Broadway Series to town but now she's
ready for a new role.

Center. Saturday night a strong cold
front crosses our area. Moisture is
very limited with this boundary, so
most of us stay completely dry. There
could be some mountain snow showers on
the western facing slopes of West
Virginia - but again, that's pretty
much where the moisture stops. The
bigger story will be the wind!
Westerly winds begin increasing by
Sunday morning. Some gusts could
approach 50mph in the Roanoke Valley
and points west. The air will be very
dry Sunday (relative humidity around
20-25%). With the dry air, dry fuels
and gusty winds, watch for a high fire
risk. Use caution outdoors! Highs are
forecast in the 40s Sunday.
Winds begin diminishing Sunday night
with clear skies. It will get very cold
with lows in the teens. Single digit
wind chill values are likely by Monday
morning.
Monday calls for highs in the chilly
30s with sunshine, as high pressure
remains in control.
Tuesday we jump back to the lower 50s
with partly sunny conditions. There's a
20% chance of a light shower or
sprinkle.
Our best chance of rain in the extended
outlook comes Tuesday night and for the
first half of Wednesday. There's a 50%
chance of rain at that time. The
showers should exit by Wednesday
afternoon with partly sunny skies for
the rest of the work week.

in part to A-D Vassallo's long range
bomb from the right side as part of a
24 point afternoon.
Jeff Allen followed that up with a jam
sandwich off the dish from Deron
Washington, and Tech led 16 to 10. But
Miami reeled off 9 straight points as
Jack McClinton comes up with the steal,
going coast to coast for the conversion
and Miami took a 2 point lead to the
lockerroom.
The 'Canes lead ballooned to 10
at one point in the second half, and
the visitors maintained that advantage
until late in the game, when Tech went
on a run to close within 3. But Miami
outrebounded the Hokies by 15 and held
a nearly 3 to 1 advantage in free throw
attempts winning 74-71, dropping Tech
