closely as they try to come up with a

is resonsible for an 11-hundred acre
forest fire in Bedford County.

on Saturday.
Charges against him are pending.
Today, people were allowed to

Forestry officials say downed
power lines started it.
They were still scouting the area
today, getting an idea of the scope of
the charred area.

detainees for planning and executing
the September eleventh attacks.

VO-NAT The military legal advisor
announced the charges this morning.
They include conspiracy,
attacking civilians and terrorism.
In addition, four of the
detainees, including alleged attack
mastermind, Khalid Sheik Mohammed
(KAH-lihd SHAKE mo-HAH-mehd), will be
charged with hijacking or hazarding an
aircraft.

County led investigators to someone
they consider a major drug trafficker
in Southwestern Virginia.

Deputies got a tip and searched Ellis
Sutherland- Junior's home in Speedwell.
They say they found five pounds
of marijuana and nearly 10-thousand
dollars in cash.
Investigators say Sutherland
helped them make another, larger drug
bust.

first-class stamp by one cent.
That will bring the price to 42
cents.
The postal service also says the
cost of sending post cards will also
rise by a penny to 27 cents.
The price change is set to take

"forever stamp" will be able to use it
after the increase.

Center. A low pressure system coming
out of the Gulf States will move into
the Ohio Valley and eventually through
southwest Virginia Tuesday. Most
areas will remain dry tonight with
increasing clouds. A few mountain snow
showers are possible Tuesday (40%) with
other hometowns seeing a few light rain
showers during the afternoon. Winds
will increase a bit in the mountains as
a front passes late Tuesday (20-25mph),
but nothing like that we saw over the
weekend. The best chance of steadier
rain will arrive late Tuesday night and
Wednesday, where .25 to .50" rain could
fall through Wednesday afternoon.
Sunshine and warmer weather return
Thursday and most of Friday. The
weekend will see a few rain/snow

The union representing writers on
both coasts announced a tentative
agreement today that could end the
strike that has crippled the
entertainment industry.
The writers walked off the job in
November when talks broke down over the

They could be back to work as
soon as Monday.
