The winds are not as strong as they
were yesterday, but the damage has
already been done. More than 740
firefighters are still battling
wildfires that have consumed more than
six thousand acres across the state.
On top of that thousands of people are
still without power after tree limbs
brought down power lines.

on a forest fire that's burned two
thousand acres.
The Loch Haven and Angel Lane
fires have now merged into one, and

Last Night Sunday afternoon and evening,
crews were battling flames whipped by
wind gusts exceeding 60 miles an hour.
Twenty four hours later, the
flames are gone on Timberview Road, but
the charred landscape shows just how
close they came.
In one case, the fire consumed a
jeep, but so far no homes have been
lost.

Forestry officials say downed

They were still scouting the area

Center. A low pressure system coming
out of the Gulf States will move into
the Ohio Valley and eventually through
southwest Virginia Tuesday. Most
areas will remain dry tonight with
increasing clouds. A few mountain snow
showers are possible Tuesday (40%) with
other hometowns seeing a few light rain
showers during the afternoon. Winds
will increase a bit in the mountains as
