firefighters make steady progress on
several big brushfires in our area.

fire in Roanoke County is about
30-percent contained and no homes are
in danger.
Rain has also helped the
other big fires in the area
In Montvale, firefighters
expected full containment today. Just
a few minutes ago they said they were
successful
The fire near Huddleston is
contained.
And a fire in Craig County
was about 40-percent contained this
morning and fire fighters expect that
percentage to grow by the end of the
day.

about every stem and petal.
The fire didn't damage all the
roses and lily's, but all the flowers
don't smell too sweet anymore.. they
now smell like smoke.
According to the flower shop,

The accident cost the business
about ten-thousand dollars-
investigators believe a defective
cooler unit in the van caused the fire.

Center. As a cold front passes
through this evening, skies will slowly
clear, winds will increase and
temperatures will tumble. Winds in the
higher elevations will be gusty at

enjoying the new environment.
Both the Boys and Girls
Basketball Teams have clinched the
Pioneer District Regular season Title.

The New Gym was built
specifically to to a size that will
allow James River to host Regional
Tournaments, which they will be doing
so this season

The success of the Boys team this
year is no real surprise, the Knights
made it all the way to the Final Four
in Richmond a year ago.
The Girls rise to the top of the
Pioneer District this season can also
be traced back to last year, but for
different reasons.

District Playoffs which begin next
