Relatives tell News 7 the is 17 year
old Joshua Brown who lives in this
house on Clifton Street- they say he
had just left home in his car when he
was stopped by police.

half-hour ago, Roanoke police chief Joe
Gaskins said the officer had ordered
the teenager to put his hands up and
get on the ground.
Police say the teen moved his
hands toward his waist and that's when
the officer fired one shot.
Investigators have not found a
weapon.
The officer who fired the shot
is on administrative leave. His name
is not being released by the police
department.

charged with felony sexual battery.

A court date for those charges
will be set in May.
Tran served a six month jail

shooting spree on the campus of
Northern Illinois University.

installed in 2000 that drains fluid
from his brain. A buildup of fluid can
cause symptoms similar to Parkinson's

stars of NASCAR today at Daytona for
the two 150 mile long qualifying races
that set the final grid for the Daytona
500.

Speed-NASCAR It only took two laps for things
:00 to get wild in the first race as Brian
Vickers gets tapped by Boris Said on
the high side of the track and he spins
through a pack of cars - somehow
avoiding everyone and Vickers would
continue. More on him in a moment.
Dale Earnhardt, Junior had to
start in the back after changing
engines yesterday, but he came to the
front quickly and took the lead passing
his former teammate Martin Truex,
Junior.
Dale Junior would hang for the
win holding off Reed Sorenson and Ryan
Newman.
And Vickers and Kenny Wallace
would finish ninth and 11th to earning
two of four available spots for
Sunday's Daytona 500.
But the win goes to Dale Junior -
his second victory of Speedweeks.

Intent.

School Brent Fleming signed to play
football at Glenville State. Fleming
played linebacker and running back for
Burt Torrance. Glenville State is a
Division 2 school located in Glenville,
West Virginia.
His path to college football
became a reality thanks to some hard
work in the classroom as well as on the
gridiron.

We have an update on the shooting
spree on the campus of Northern
Illinois University.

A witness says someone with a gun
walked in a large lecture hall and
started shooting.
Some reports say as many as 18 people
were hit.
Officers responded to a call of shots
fired shortly after four our time.
The witness says the shooter may have
taken his own life.
University officials will not confirm
that but they say the school is now
secure and the gunman is no longer a
threat.
DeKalb is about 65 miles west of
Chicago.
