dealing with a disturbed individual who
intended to do harm on this campus. THE
GUNMAN, 27 YEAR OLD STEVEN KAZMIERCZAK

PEOPLE, KILLING 5, BEFORE TURNING THE
GUN ON HIMSELF. When i looked up, i saw
him enter the room. he just walked in.

seemed like he had intentions to what
he was going to do. KAZMIERCZAK
RECEIVED HIS BACHELORS DEGREE FROM

THEY'VE FOUND NO MESSAGE FROM THE
GUNMAN AND SEE NO APPARENT MOTIVE. He
was someone that was revered by the
faculty and staff and students alike.
So we had no problems and we've had no
indication at all this would be the
type of person who would engage in such
activities. THE SHOOTER, POLICE SAY,
CARRIED THREE HANDGUNS AND A SHOTGUN-
HIDDEN IN A GUITAR CASE. ALL HAD BEEN
PURCHASED LEGALLY AT THE SAME STORE.
The shooter purchased two firearms 6
days ago from gun dealer in champaign.
KAZMIERCZAK PURCHASED TWO HANDGUN

Center. The weekend will be a split
CK/SKYTRACKER decision, with sunshine today, and rain
developing Sunday.
Saturday looks mostly to partly sunny
CK/WEATHERPRO with highs slated near 50. Not as warm
as yesterday - but still slightly above
average for mid February. Winds will be
light from the east.
Clouds begin gathering Saturday night
in response to a warm from moving our
way from the southwest. This may cause
a few light showers/drizzle to develop.
As temperatures fall to the lower 30s
overnight, there could be a few icy
spots form by Sunday morning. Most of
the moisture associated with an area of
low pressure traveling well to the west
of us won't arrive until later in the
day Sunday; when temperatures are
safely above freezing. Rain becomes
likely late Sunday into early Monday as
a cold front crosses the viewing area.
Slow clearing takes place Monday with
breezy conditions.
SATURDAY: Mostly to partly sunny.
Pleasant. High: 51
SATURDAY NIGHT: Clouds gather. Isolated
freezing rain. Low: 32
SUNDAY: Clouds with showers developing.

GRAPHIC=NONE They deadline is up -- and the
one million dollar bond to stop
Randolph College from selling prized
paintings... has NOT been paid.
CHANNEL=A VO-NAT
VO-NAT
The school had put them up for
auction last November... hoping to
raise at least 32-million dollars to
boost endowment and help bolster
Randolph's academic standing.
Christie's- -the auction house in
New York- -took them off the auction
block after a group of Lynchburg
citizens went to court to block the
sale.
State courts had required them to
post the bond, before stopping the
school from the selling the paintings.
Without it... the injunction
expired at midnight last night.
