John McCain is the victor on the
Republican side, that puts him even
closer to wrapping up his party's
nomination.

caucus in Washington state where there
are 56 delegates. Moving to Hawaii,
where Democrats are holding a caucus
but the first counts won't begin for
hours.

Square.

ground for the monument today.
It will feature several civil
rights activists....
Including Barbara Johns, the
young girl who led hundreds of students
out of her Prince Edward County school
in 1951 to protest unequal

The move affected students like

She hopes the memorial will

Assembly that increases the required
number of hours teens spend training
behind the wheel from 40- to 45 hours.
15- of them have to be after
sunset.
The bill also requires parents
certify their teen completed the hours.
Parents who don't sign could face
up to six months in jail and- or a fine
of up to one- thousand dollars.
If Governor Kaine signs the bill
it will become law.

suffered from severe malnutrition.
A state veterinarian found three
dead cattle left unburied on the
property.
Animal control charged Leonard

dollar bond and will be in court on
those charges Friday.

disturbance will move in overnight,
with a slight chance of rain and snow
before 8am, then a few rain showers

take the streets.
A mobile court is bused into
rural areas to hear both criminal and
civil complaints.
Since distance is no longer an
issue, villagers and their attorneys
actually come to their hearings.
The government says there are
about 30-million unresolved cases, so
this will help clear the docket.

80th birthday today at Talbot's.
The Roanoke City Council
presented the league with a
proclamation that honors the
organization's service to the valley.
As part of the celebration, the
group is re-releasing its cookbook "Oh

The league was founded in the
1920s with a mission to support and
enrich the community.
