Carlock, Junior filled the Spartans'
gymnasium for some Monday night playoff
hoops.
Salem's turned up the heat in teh
first quarter and set the tone for the
night with its pressing, trapping
defense as Fene Turner get the loose
ball and hits ahead to Reggie Barnette
- who gets the easy one in transition
for the home team.
More pressure from Salem - this
time Stephen Barnette will help Turner
with the trap and Barnette will get the
easy one as Salem led 10-to-nothing
right out of the gate.
The G-men would get back in the
game as senior J.D. Hunter hit a
variety of shots including this tough
runner off the right side of the lane.

preliminary ratings for the telecast
are 14 percent lower than the
least-watched ceremony ever.
That was the 2003 ceremony, when
there were only 33 million viewers.
Though Nielsen doesn't know just
how many people watched last night, the
preliminary ratings are from the
nation's biggest markets.
This year's ratings are also

Maybe not, but it has created the
ultimate safety net.
An underground vault storing
millions of seeds from around the world
is scheduled to open this week in a
mountain on a remote island near the
Arctic Ocean.
It will protect the seeds from
threats including war, natural
disasters, lack of funding or poor
agricultural management.
It's frozen location ensures the
seeds will be stored safely no matter
what happens outside.
