Hillary Clinton says hope isn't enough.

(SOT HILLARY CLINTON 205125): "I WANT

YOU TO SEE THAT MY ACTIONS MATCH MY

The next round of primaries in Texas
and Ohio are must-win contests for the

former first lady. Her core message is
the same - "I'm ready, he's not" - but

it's taken a sharper tone in recent
days.

First denouncing Barack Obama's
campaign tactics---

(NATSOT CLINTON 01405): "SHAME ON YOU

BARACK OBAMA."

Then mocking him as
naive....(nats)....and now comparing
him to that most

high-profile republican target...

(SOT HILLARY CLINTON 123843): "WE'VE

SEEN THE TRAGIC RESULT OF HAVING A

PRESIDENT WHO HAD NEITHER THE
EXPERIENCE NOR THE WISDOM TO MANAGE OUR
FOREIGN

POLICY 1/8AND SAFEGUARD OUR NATIONAL

(nats)

But Obama's staying on point--

(SOT BARACK OBAMA 190215): "COME

ON-BOARD - YOU WANT TO BE ON THE CHANGE

TRAIN."

And that train's gathering steam. He's
drawing closer in Ohio and has pulled

even with Clinton in Texas.

(POSSIBLE QUICK SOT OBAMA)

(nats)

Meanwhile, John McCain's Straight Talk
Express has hit a bump in the road.

The Arizona senator did some quick
back-pedaling after saying to win the
White

House, he's got to convince Americans
that the policy in Iraq is working.

.

(SOT JOHN MCCAIN 051530): (SOUND AS

RECEIVED)

"I DON'T MEAN THAT I'LL -QUOTE- 'LOSE.'
I MEAN THAT IT'S AN IMPORTANT ISSUE

IN THE JUDGEMENT OF THE AMERICAN
VOTERS."

Patience in Iraq is a major theme for
his campaign, but he's got to be
careful.

Polls show the country's grown
increasingly weary of the war....and
will

probably be even more so in November.

VO-NAT Efforts to raise the gas tax died
ANCHOR=KIM in a House committee.

The bill would have raised the
tax by one cent per gallon each year
for the next five years.

Each penny increase would raise

an estimated 52- million dollars for
road maintenance.

The bill's sponsor says the
increase would only cost Virginians a
couple of McDonald's combo meals each
year.

The best part, he says, is out of
state drivers would share the cost.

Transportation experts estimate
funding for road maintenance in
Virginia will dry up by 2016.

There is a drive in the state
legislature to get a specialty plate
passed.

A bill has passed the Senate and
awaits House approval.

For the legislation to take
effect, the Appalachian Trail
Conservancy needs 350 pre-paid
applications by July.

The specialty plate costs an
extra 25-dollars, with 15-dollars going
to the ATC.

But one-thousand paid
applications are needed before the
Conservancy starts to see the funds.

It may have started slowly this year,
but health officials say we're looking
at a bad flu season.

(vo)

The virus is widespread in 49 states,
and 22 children have already died.
State boards report cases have
increased dramatically in the past 10
days.

This week a government panel will meet
to discuss expanding its recommendation
of who should be vaccinated.

Internet giant Google is teaming up
with the renowned Cleveland Health
Clinic to put patients in charge of
their own medical records.

The new venture will enroll up to
10-thousand patients in a program that
allows them to control their own
electronic medical data, including
prescriptions.

The health care industry has been
trying to usher in a paperless era for
more than a decade...with little
success.

(wipevo)

A new study suggests that women who eat
diets rich in meat and dairy may have a

decreased risk of breast cancer, while
those who bulk up on fiber, fruits and
vegetables show a lower risk of ovarian
cancer.

In terms of general health, experts
usually recommend limiting red meat and
saturated fat, while eating more whole
grains and sources of so-called "good"
fat -- like fish, nuts, and olive oil.
