Police are dusting off the door
for hand prints and combing the area
for evidence.
The shooter fled by foot and a
person of interest was seen leaving the
area by car.

two month old Bedford County murder
case.
Sheriff's Deputies say
37-year-old Brian Wesley Earnest
murdered his wife.

without bond in the Bedford County
Jail.
He is an assistant principal at
Great Bridge High School in Chesapeake.

"Roanoke Electric Steel" caught fire
when contractors doing demolition work
on one of the towers... accidently
ignited some wood beams.

Roanoke Fire Department.
An initial concern of absbestos
burning turned out to NOT be a threat.
It took more than 40 fire
fighters to put out the fire.
Crews say getting water to the
backside of plant was the challenge.

temperatures were a good 15 to 20
degrees colder than normal. Mountain
snow showers have all but tapered off,
leaving some of the higher elevations
with nearly a foot of natural snow .
Skies remain partly cloudy with another
night of bitterly cold temperatures as
lows tumble to the low 20s. Winds will
be light to start, then turn calm
overnight. We do get a bit warmer
Friday. However, we'll also get a bit
wet at times as a front pushes through
during the late afternoon and early
evening. Temperatures ahead of the
front will climb to around 50 degrees,
with light showers coming in after 6pm.
Sunshine returns over the weekend, with
seasonable highs in the 40s Saturday

driving tests may have to go back to
school.

Last year one Virginian failed
the driving test 80- times.
More than one- thousand citizens
failed the test six times last year.
Delegate Tim Hugo's bill requires
adults who fail the written or behind
the wheel tests more than three times
in three- months go to driving school.
He says the requirement will save
tax dollars, reduce wait- times at
D-M-V and promote highway safety.
Senators unanimously voted it out
of committee today.
The bill will be considered by
the full Senate next week.

The bottom line is that children don't

you want to give your child a daily
vitamin there is likely no harm in
doing so. Just make sure you follow the
directions exactly. THAT MEANS JUST ONE

A 17-year-old student -slash-
chef came up with the idea to sell
gourmet sandwiches at his high school.
So, he handed out a menu offering
three different choices at five bucks
each.
But while he was setting up shop,
the principal put a stop to it.
The student got suspended for two
days after he didn't listen, he even
tried to sell a sandwich to the
principal.
So what did he do during his time
off?
He invited friends over to have
some sandwiches.

Tech is on spring break next week
and that's good news for you fans who
like to see a college basketball game.
The Virginia Tech women's
basketball team will close out its
regular season this Sunday with a two
o'clock home contest against Wake
Forest.
Tech announced today that all
fans will be admitted free to that
game.
Again, the game tips-off at 2pm
and the doors at Cassell Coliseum will
open up at 12:30.

today the school's head coach for more
than a deade announced he's stepping
down.
Rick Crotts - told us in a candid
conversation this today that his reason
for leaving is two-fold.

Crotts played High School
basketball at Glenvar for Joe Davis and
was able to return to his alma mater as
an assistant under Art Lawrence in 1994
and helped the Highlanders win a state
title after a head coaching stint at
Cave Spring.
Being able to coach the
Highlanders has been a dream come true
for Crotts who was named the Head Coach
at Glenvar in April of 1999 when
Lawerence stepped down.
