three people this morning.
Heavy flames were shooting through
the roof of the single-story home when
firefighters got there.. but it was too
late.
A person who met emergency crews in
front of the house said three people
were trapped inside.
He said the victims were found in a
room above the garage. Their names are
being withheld until relatives can be
notified.

An initial concern of asbestos

The largest fire was in Roanoke
County.

brush and forest fires for the year has
already gone up in flames.

their child's crib.

valley's basketball Mecca this time of
year - began hosting four straight days
of Old Dominion Athletic Conference
men's and women's basketball this
afternoon.

Lynchburg vs. Roanoke The women are playing four games
:00 today including a quarterfinal contest
this afternoon featuring Roanoke
College and Lynchburg College.
This was a matchup between the
four and five seeds in the tourney, but
Roanoke dominated this thing as Jaleesa
Osborne poured in a game high 23 points
to lead the Maroons in scoring.

basketball team will close out its
regular season this Sunday with a two
o'clock home contest against Wake
Forest.
As a way of saying thanks to the
fans who have supported the progam this
season, the Hokies announced today that
all fans will be admitted free to the
game against the Demon Deacons.
Again, the game tips-off at 2pm
and the doors at Cassell Coliseum will
open up at 12:30.

The Green Bay Packers official
website briefly reported today that he
was retiring, but the page under the
breaking news section on the site was
live for only a few minutes before it
was taken down.
A Green Bay spokesman said the
people who handle their Web site had
set up a dummy page in the event he was
to retire and that they were asked to
take it down immediately. Favre is in
the process of considering a return for
his 18th season and he is expected to
announce his intentions this week.
