investigating a double murder-suicide.
Authorities got a call around
noon today.

were found dead in the front yard of a
trailer home in the Baywood community
of Grayson.
Right next door - another man
also dead - police say it looks like he
shot himeself.

William Morva's capital murder trial
will start this week in Abingdon,
Virginia.

August 2006.
He's accused of killing a
security guard and deputy while on the
run.
Judge Ray Grubbs tried to seat a
jury in Montgomery County last year,
but decided to move the case.
Abingdon is almost two hours form
Blacksburg and it's been a major
undertaking to plan for the move.
Washington County Sheriff Fred
Newman says he's had several meetings
with authorities in Montgomery County
to prepare.

crashing his motorcycle in Florida.
According to Florida newspapers,
Derek Edwards was driving his bike
yesterday morning when he went around a
curve and lost control.
The 23-year-old ran into a ditch
and flew off his bike. Edwards died at
the scene.
He was wearing a helmet.

spent part of the day working to put
out a brush fire.

It was originally a controled
burn and then got out of control.

firefighters were worried it was going
to spread to a nearby Christmas tree
farm.

According to Triple A, the cost
ussually escalates right around spring
time as refineries switch from winter
to summer gas blends. But in the wake
of rising crude oil prices, gas prices
tend to increase at a warp speed.

she'll consider flying.

(END SOT) The crash that killed construction
worker Ricky Slone on Route 419 in
Roanoke County still has viewers
talking. The two drivers have been
charged with involuntary manslaughter
and are suspected of driving drunk.
A viewer from Elliston wrote: "They
need to sit in jail for a long time to
contemplate the gravity of their
actions. Saying they are sorry will not
bring back the worker. Their family
will suffer the rest of their lives."
Our extensive coverage of the scare and
lockdown on the Ferrum College campus
garnered a few comments. This one came
from the parent of a Ferrum student:
"I was at work when I heard Breaking
News Update, Ferrum College on
Lockdown, my heart literally fell and
my eyes swelled with tears
automatically thinking the worst has
happened to our son. You handled
yourselves and the news with the
highest of concern of parents and loved
ones involved with a Ferrum student or
family member."
But another viewer thought our coverage
played into the gunman's plans.

The Rail Jam was Virginia's first

this year's boat show helped to
increase attendance and excitement.

of a deadly poison found in a Las Vegas
motel.

Authorities searched a home in
Riverton, Utah yesterday in connection
with the Las Vegas case.
The home reportedly belongs to
Thomas Tholen who says he's the cousin
of the man hospitalized in Las Vegas
after he was exposed to ricin.
Tholen says his cousin's name is
Roger Von Bergendorff, although
authorities have not official confirmed
this.
No word yet what investigators
collected from the Utah home.

christened its newest vessel this
weekend...

The U.S.S. New York is what is
called an assault ship. The
billion dollar vessel will normally
carry a crew of about 360 but it's

are forecast in the mid and upper 30s.
Monday calls for sunny skies - just a
few high clouds during the afternoon. A
return flow of wind on the backside of
high pressure will pump warm
temperatures into the area. Highs near
70. Wind may gust from the south around
25-30mph.
Clouds quickly gather Monday evening
and Monday night ahead of an
approaching storm system coming out of
the southern Plains. Temperatures will
be very mid Monday night; in the lower
50s.
Tuesday is the "day to watch" this
week. As the front crosses the area,
expect rain and thunderstorms. The
highest rain chances will be in the
afternoon and evening hours. At this
point, here are the items of concern:
+ Heavy downpours. Some locations may
get over 1.00"
+ Gusty wind. Storms could produce
damaging wind
+ Timing. Late afternoon/evening looks
to be the time to watch
Strong storms to the southeast of our
region could limit/rob moisture from

ODAC Tournament for both the men and
the women with tickets to be punched to
the NCAA Division Three Tournament.
The bracket held true on the men's
side with the top two seeds Guilford
and Virginia Wesleyan advancing to
today's final in Salem.

The Marlins got on the board
first from behind the arc as Tyler
Fantin finds the range on the three
ball from the corner pocket.
But big Ben Strong certainly
lived up to his last name today.
Strong scored the first 8 points for
Guilford and finished with 28 on the
day to go with 15 rebounds as the
Quakers quickly built a double digit
lead.
Later it's Caleb Kimbrough
going to work on the backdoor cut.
That's an easy deuce and the Quakers
got plenty more of those.

Marlin men could not, against upstart
Bridgewater, a team that started the
weekend as the 6th seed.

post up on the block and the kiss off
the window for 2 of her 13 points on
the day.
The Marlins went inside as well
early in the game. Heather Phillips

*CG final Bridgewater Cinderella Eagles kept things going.
57 Jordan Burkholder on the steal and
Virginia Wesleyan conversion at the other end as

women put the wraps on a disappointing
regular season today at home against
Wake Forest. It would have been senior
day at the Cassell, but Beth
Dunkenberger doesn't have any so that
will have to wait.

tried to pick up a 2nd ACC win heading
into next weekend's tournament.
Brittany Cook carried the Hokies
as she has all year, getting in the
passing lane and taking the steal the
other way for 2. She finished with a
game high 27 points and tallied 9
rebounds.
Later Shani Grey gets into the
act as she stops and pops the short
jumper on the baseline as the Hokies
opened up a 10 point second half lead.
Then it's more Cook--getting to
the rim for 2 more.
*CG final Wake Forest Tech won it over Wake Forest by a
56 final of 61 to 56. The women will open
Virginia Tech play in the ACC Tournament on Thursday
61 in Greensboro.
