Members of "Students for

bills introduced in the General

One would allow professors with
concealed weapons permits to carry them
on campus.

Another would let students.

Concealed permit holders can
carry guns in most public places, and
supporters think public college
campuses should be no different.

Opponents say adding more guns to
the mix is not the way to prevent mass
shootings....

They think more should be done to
prevent people with mental issues from
getting guns.

Neither bill received a hearing

The National Transportation

Contributing factors included the
weather and diminishing light, the
pilot's decision to take off despite a

It's high noon for Hillary Clinton.

(SOT HILLARY CLINTON): "TEXANS

UNDERSTAND WHAT BIG MEANS - THIS IS A
BIG VOTE

FOR A BIG DECISION!"

For weeks, her people had built up
Texas and Ohio as do-or-die
contests...even

saying she needed both states to
continue.

(SOT HILLARY CLINTON): "I HAVE EARNED

EVERY LAST WRINKLE ON MY FACE."

But in the past frantic days of
campaigning, it sounds as if she's not

planning to hang it up anytime soon.

(SOT HILLARY CLINTON): "THEN WE MOVE

ONTO PENNSYLVANIA AND THE STATES STILL

AHEAD. SO - I'M JUST GETTING WARMED
UP."

(Joel Brown/Stand-up/Dallas, Texas)

THE VOTE HERE IS A UNIQUE COMBINATION
PRIMARY AND CAUCUS. THEY CALL IT THE

TEXAS TWO-STEP. IT MEANS YOU CAN VOTE
TWICE...BUT IT ALSO MAKES IT EASIER FOR

A CANDIDATE TO WIN THE POPULAR VOTE
BUT LOSE THE DELEGATES.

(nat Obama rally)

And delegates are what matter. Even if
Obama loses both states, he's got to

lose BIG for Clinton to really cut into
his lead. And solid wins for him

could slam the door on the former
First Lady.

(SOT BARACK OBAMA): "THIS IS NOT JUST A

FLASH IN THE PAN. WE ARE IN THIS FOR

THE LONG HAUL!"

(nats)

Things are much more settled on the
republican front. John McCain can
clinch

the nomination with a strong showing.

(SOT JOHN MCCAIN): "THERE WAS A TIME

WHEN MANY PEOPLE SAID MY POLITICAL
CAREER

WAS AT AN END."

It's a remarkable comeback for the
Arizona senator - Last summer his
campaign

was in disarray.

Now he's got the time to focus on
fund-raising....and sit back and watch
as

his democratic rivals beat up on each
other.

state government - and call attention
to the things that need work.

Lynchburg College Professor Sally
Selden has been working with the
project since 1999.

20:13:20 "There are states that
use this information. They take it to
the state legislature, They are asking
for reforms to be implemented or
initiatives to be funded." 20:13:28

Coming up with a grade is a
complicated process.

They look at things like road
construction and its being funded.

And they look at how money is
being spent from our local budgets.

So how did Virginia do?

The study gives the Commonwealth
an "A" minus.

20:15:25 "The best hope for this
project is that people will use this
information... share this information
and improve how they're managing their
human resources within their states."
20:15:34

The full report on state
government is being published online.

You can also read a summary of
the student's findings in the latest
