grateful that none of the officers was
physicially injured, and said they hope

leader.


Parks Snead is now the acting
police chief for the city of Lynchburg.


Snead has been commander of the
city's field operations bureau since
1997.


He's taking over for Charles
Bennett, who's stepping down for
retirement next week.


City officials are conducting a
nationwide search for Bennett's
permanent replacement.


Snead will take over as acting
chief March 10th.
