William Morva's capital murder trial.

Lynda McDowell spoke softly as
she owned up to abusing more than
10-thousand dollars of city money over
a four year period.

McDowell claimed she was going to
meetings and training sessions that
would benefit her office.
But prosecutors say she was
taking personal vacations, sometimes
there was no meeting at all.

She got away with it until April
of 2007, when she took a trip to
Portsmouth.
McDowell spent 23-hundred dollars
over a four day period, telling the
city she was at a treasurer's
conference.
Prosecutors say she was only at
that conference for an hour - the rest
of her time was spent eating expensive
dinners and visiting sites around
Hampton Roads.

Judge Joseph Milam told McDowell

weekend in Buena Vista.

APRISA Police say William Boyers the
E510 third, Chad Kirby and Michael
Fitzgerald were all charged with
solicitation for prostitution.
They say the men made
arrangements to meet a woman at a hotel
in Buena Vista.
Police say one of the suspects
made several phone calls to his friends
to arrange a meeting with a prostitute.

pressure tracking across the region
will keep the NEWS7 viewing area cloudy
and damp Friday night through Saturday
morning. Tonight, expect steady
temperatures near 40, light wind,
considerable clouds, periods of rain
and areas of patchy fog. When will the
clouds break? Looks like we'll slowly
turn partly sunny Saturday afternoon as
our current storm system pulls to the
northeast. Saturday will become breezy
with westerly winds gusting to around
45mph. Temperatures should top out near
50 early, then fall back into the 40s
during the afternoon. Bundle up!
Saturday night features clear skies
with lows in the mid 20s! Since
overnight lows will be chilly and west
winds will continue to blow, wind chill
values are expected in the single
digits! Sunday calls for sunshine and
highs near 50. Winds won't be as
strong. Long-range outlook: Monday
through Thursday call for partly sunny
skies. The week will start off with
highs close to 50, but we should be
