Less than half an hour ago,
legislators voted to extend the session
until midnight on Tuesday.

That gives budget negotiators
nearly three extra days to hammer out
differences on the state's 78- billion

dollar, two- year spending plan.

Differences over education and
public safety funding have been
resolved....

Negotiators have not begun to
tackle differences over major ticket
items like expanding state sponsored
preschool.

Legislators approved legislation

Advocates say the word "retarded"

Hidden Valley vs. Brookville The Bees beat Hidden Valley to :00 open the season way back on December
4th of last year.

But that night one of the Titans
big guns Abby Redick was out of the
Hidden Valley lineup with a sprained
ankle and there wasn't nearly as much
at stake.

Tonight, Redick made herself
right at home from the start as she
scored the first bucket of the game and
finished with 10 points - one of three

Titans in double figures.

The other key tonight for Hidden
Valley was its defense. Abby Oliver
gets the steal and goes coast to coast
for the hoop and the harm. Oliver
finished with a game high 19 points as
Hidden Valley jumped out to a
13-to-nothing lead.

The Titans had that double digit
lead for almost the entire game, but
Joyous Tharington helped slice it down
to nine in the fourth. She led the
Bees with 13. *CG final Hidden Valley

42 But the defending state champs Brookville would seal the deal for coach Mike 30 McGuire in the closing minutes as Kylee GROUP AA QUARTERFINALS Beecher gets the putback for two of her
13 points and Hidden Valley beats
Brookville 42-to-30 in the state
quarterfinals.
