VO-NAT Currently, drivers are supposed
to move over if a police or emergency
vehicle is parked in PART of a lane,
but under the so-called "move-over"
law, drivers would have to move over
even if the emergency vehicle is on the
SIDE of a highway.
Those who don't -could go to jail
for one year and also have to pay a 25

In some cases, the driver could

CK/SKYTRACKER in the wake of Saturday's crummy

with northwest breezes 10-20mph. Sunday
CK/WEATHERPRO night calls for clear skies, light
wind, and chilly temperatures in the
20s.
Monday begins sunny, with some few high
level clouds during the afternoon as a
clipper-like system approaches from the
midwest. There's not a lot of moisture
associated with this feature; so while
the far western mountains may get a
sprinkle or two, the rest of us should
be dry. As high pressure slips off the
coast Monday, we'll be in the "return
flow", placing afternoon highs in the
mid and upper 50s.
There are no good signs of rain for
most of the week; until Friday, when
rain from the southern Mississippi
Valley heads toward the mid Atlantic.
The heaviest rain with this system will
likely stay through the Carolinas and
Georgia.

GRAPHIC=None In this morning's Healthcheck 7
Healthcheck 7 Banner Report, an often-used term -may soon be
a thing of the past.
The words "mentally retarded" are
in the process of being erased from
Virginia law.
Lawmakers approved legislation
that replaces the words in law books
with the words "intellectually
disabled".
Advocates say the word "retarded"
hurts the self esteem of those with
mental disabilities.
It's estimated the change would
cost the state 75- thousand dollars.
The legislature must pass the
bill *again* next year before it will
be sent to Governor Kaine for
consideration.

CK/SKYTRACKER weather. Highs are forecast near 50
with northwest breezes 10-20mph. Sunday
night calls for clear skies, light
CK/WEATHERPRO wind, and chilly temperatures in the
20s.
Monday begins sunny, with some few high
level clouds during the afternoon as a
clipper-like system approaches from the
midwest. There's not a lot of moisture
associated with this feature; so while
the far western mountains may get a
sprinkle or two, the rest of us should
be dry. As high pressure slips off the
coast Monday, we'll be in the "return
flow", placing afternoon highs in the
mid and upper 50s.
There are no good signs of rain for
most of the week; until Friday, when
rain from the southern Mississippi
Valley heads toward the mid Atlantic.
The heaviest rain with this system will
likely stay through the Carolinas and
Georgia.
