the jury should find Morva guilty of

VO-NAT In 2007, the state's Department
of Health received 730 cases of rabies.
The best way to prevent rabies
cases is to make sure your animals are
properly vaccinated.
A law was enacted back in July
requiring all veterinarians in Virginia
to report every dog that receives a
rabies vaccination.
Eight months later, we take a
look at what the law has accomplished
and if veterinarians who were upset

collection has come to an end - for
now.
A group that's trying to block
the sale of four paintings at Randolph

against the school.
But as Lynchburg Newsroom Chief

what it wants yet.

OQ=Tim Saunders, News 7, Lynchburg << It's a quiet morning at Randolph
(END SOT) College.
Quiet - now that one of the
lawsuits hanging over this campus is
off the table.
"Here, it's business as usual."
But as students make their way to
class, a silent debate lingers - over
what will happen to four paintings from
the school's Maier Museum of Art.
Paintings the school says it
needs to sell to protect its bottom
line.
Brenda Edson/Randolph
Spokesperson:"That sale was necessary,
it's still necessary. That need is not
going to go away."
Ellen Agnew is part of a group
that's suing Randolph to stop the
paintings from being sold.
This weekend they put their fight
on hold in what's called a "nonsuit."
Ellen Agnew: "The nonsuit will
allow us to re-file, should the college
decide to sell any of those 4 paintings
and, rest assured, we feel strongly
enough about this that that would
happen."
Randolph officials aren't sure
when the paintings will be sold, but
they say it will happen.
Edson: "It's not a decision
anybody wants to make, but its
necessary for the future of this
school.
Meanwhile the school is working
to raise money in other ways.
They've seen an increase in
donations and the number of
applications for students has tripled
since going co-ed.
Edson: "We are making progress
and we're doing everything possible to
secure this school so that it can
thrive in the future."
Opponents of the art sale want to
see the school thrive too - with the
paintings intact.
Agnew: "It is something the
college can use to its benefit in the
future."
Whether that benefit happens with
the art on campus isn't part of the
picture yet.
Tim Saunders, News 7,
Lynchburg.>>
GRAPHIC=HOLD There are other lawsuits facing
the college.
The Virginia Supreme Court will
hear arguments in April on whether
Randolph has the right to sell assets
from its days as a woman's school.
Opponents say that case could
affect the sale of the artwork.

His teammate Deron Washington -

ability and in the mid-60s he was
largely responsible for leading the
Hokies to their first post-season

Combs played on some rock solid teams

Ron "Spider" Perry. Tech made the NIT
in 1966 and in 1967 were just an
overtime loss away from the NCAA final

In 1968 Combs averaged 21 points a

Combs was a fifth round NBA pick in
1968, but opted for the ABA where he
played seven seasons and scored 7,666
points and appeared in three All-Star
Games helping the Utah Stars to win the
