now bearing fruit.

manufacturer that established its North

The plant makes absorbent

marketplace.
The company now has a dozen
employees, but the number should climb

Mike Gillette announced his
campaign today.
He's represented ward one since
2004.
Gillette's goals for a second
term include passing a "big box
ordinance" that would limit where large
retailers could open in the city.
He also wants to help the city
control spending and pass the savings
along to schools.

Robin Reed in the SkyTracker7 Forecast
Center. An area of high pressure will
stay in play this week with plenty of
sunshine and above average
temperatures. Afternoon highs should
reach the low 60s with partly to mostly
sunny skies. Winds will be busy, out of
the west at 10 to 15mph. This pattern
will continue into late Thursday. A
series of disturbances will come in
late in the week, offering a 40% chance
of showers Friday and slightly greater
chance Saturday. Even with the clouds
and showers, weekend highs will stay in
the 60s with lows in the 40s. Look for
a slight cool down Sunday with an
isolated morning showers, then partial
clearing late. Highs will fall into the
low 50s. The start of next week is
quiet as sunshine returns along with
average highs in the upper 50s.

Thursday in Charlotte and tonight the
league handed out its coach of the year
ward for the just completed regular
season season.
And because therer was nothing
regular about how the Hokie defied the
co-called experts, Seth Greenberg has
been named the ACC coach of the year.

VO-NAT Greenberg took a team full of
freshmen that was picked to finish at
or near the bottom of the ACC, and led
them to a fourth place finish and a
first round bye in this week's
tournament.
Greenberg got 25 first place
votes to edge Miami's Frank Haith for
the honor. Haith finished with 23.
The key to the successful season
and this award has to be how Greenberg
convinced all of these young players to
buy into his tough love philosophy.

coming to Blacksburg next Tuesday and
one former Hokie has decided to give

pitcher, who played 12 seasons in the
major leagues and made a couple of
all-star game appearances is a Giles
native who has always cared out

English Field where the Hokies are
hosting Fordham.
Williams will be selling raffle
tickets at $5 dollars a piece will all
of the proceeds going to the Relay for
Life teams in Giles County.
He'll be at the Tech Baseball
park tomorrow from 4pm to 6pm selling
the chances to win that coveted ticket
to next week's Yankees' game.
