late Thursday afternoon, as she was
trying to move her things out of his
home.

Roanoke. She'd been dating Jeff Horn
only about six months.

Thursday Night When police arrived around 5:30
Thursday, Horn wouldn't come out.
The TAC team surrounded the
place.
When it was over they found the
two bodies inside.
Police believe Horn shot Dudley,
then himself.

Michael Vick's trial on state
dogfighting charges has been continued.
The suspended N-F-L quarterback
was scheduled to stand trial in April.
An assistant in the Surry County
Commonwealth's Attorney's office says
no new date has been set.
Vick is serving a federal
23-month prison term in Leavenworth,
Kansas.

an agreement on a bond package to fund
construction projects on college
campuses, parks and mental health
facilities.
A second special session is

could make it a long one.

the State Budget.

Folks there were counting on ten
percent of the center's budget coming
from the state.
That means, a cut in programs and
educational services for kids.
The director of Center in the
Square thinks they might have to borrow

to replace Alfred Dowe on Roanoke City
Council. 22 people filed applications
for the vacancy before the deadline
Friday afternoon.

City Council will narrow the
field on Monday, before holding public
interviews and a public hearing next
Thursday.
Council will fill the vacancy at

A Martinsville man is charged
with causing a multi-car accident on
Memorial Boulevard Friday afternoon.

VO-NAT Police say 61 year old Jerry
Harris was leaving the parking lot of
the Biscuitville Restaurant this
afternoon when he pulled into the path
of this Toyota Corolla.
The force of the impact caused
the sedan to flip over.
The driver was partially thrown
from the car and suffers only minor
injuries tonight. A parked car was also
struck by the pickup.
Harris is charged with failure to
yeild right of way.

raised plenty of eyebrows.
Now, a local city is testing for
those products in its own water supply.

The city already tests for 80
different contaminants, but officials
say this assessment will help put
customers at ease.

latest guidance suggests sunshine and
some clouds Saturday - period. There
will be a second wave of moisture that
rolls through Saturday evening and into
Sunday morning which should provide
some shower chances, but most amounts
should be less than 0.50" - with a bit
more along the Virginia/North Carolina
boarder. Highs are forecast in the
lower 60s. SUNDAY: A few clouds will
be around (possibly even a light
shower) very early Sunday morning
before high pressure builds back into
the area with mostly sunny skies. Highs
