fire damaged four acres of a Roanoke
man's property today.

Imlay Drive in Garden City around two
o'clock.
Dave Schippers says he was
cleaning up the front part of his
property with his lawn tractor when the
motor's exhaust ignited and set some

Center. FRIDAY NIGHT: Expect
increasing clouds with a few rain
showers. Most of the showers will hug
the Virginia/West Virginia state line.
Overnight lows are forecast in the mid
and upper 40s. SATURDAY: Basically,
the latest guidance suggests sunshine
and some clouds Saturday - period.
There will be a second wave of moisture
that rolls through Saturday evening and
into Sunday morning which should
provide some shower chances, but most
amounts should be less than 0.50" -
with a bit more along the
Virginia/North Carolina boarder. Highs
are forecast in the lower 60s. SUNDAY:
A few clouds will be around (possibly
even a light shower) very early Sunday
morning before high pressure builds
back into the area with mostly sunny
skies. Highs Sunday should top out in
the mid 50s. Sunshine continues into
Monday with highs in the mid 50s. For

Tournament continued to roll on
Richmond this week.
It was a day of 6 games. First
thing on the docket would be the Group
Single "A" Division 2 Semi-Finals.

County in the a Boy's Semi-Final as the
Maroons looked to make it to a state
finals for the first time ever under
coach Al Copenhaver.
Point guard Ethan Mills would do
his best to make that happen as he gets
out on the break, tracks down the
outlet pass and scores two off the
glass.
But Mills and company would have
their hands full as Buckingham crashed
the boards all game long. Ethan Lee
gets this offensive puback and he draws
the foul in the process.
George Wythe would just keep
working hard on the offensvie end as
Tennis Simon hits the three pointer, he
led the Maroons with 19 points.
Later Wythe will go inside and
get the bucket on the baseline.
*CG final George Wythe and the Marooons are able to hang on
71 and beat Buckingham 71-to-63 and
Buckingham Co. advance to play Gate City.

Richmond this season. The Lady
Buffalos came up short a year ago,
looking to bring home that elusive
State Championship this year.

And no one wanted to get back to
that title game more than Floyd's
Brittany Avancini. Last year she
fouled out in the closing minutes
against Clarke Couny, but today she put
the team on her back.
Avancini was everywhere, making
steals, running the floor in transition
and mainly lighting up the Geroge Mason
defense with her driving shots. She
had a 11 points in the first quarter.
But she was just getting warmed
up. Watch her penetrate into the lane
at full speed and hit the tough pullup
jumper. Avancini scored 31 points.
