plane crashed in Smyth County.

State police say the plane went
down in a remote area about five miles
North of the Mountain Empire Airport in
Marion around ten thirty yesterday
morning.

We're told both victims, a man
and woman were on board - one was the
pilot.

head back to Mill Mountain today.

This following at least five
fires that burned on top of the
mountain last night.

The fires are out now, but
authorities say they all look
suspicious.

the flames for about two hours starting
at around 7:45.

They were mostly on the east side
of Mill Mountain off of Fishburn
Parkway.

Authorities are asking people to
avoid the area as much as possible.

Investigators say it's possible

County on Saturday.

says a 54-year-old man from Bluefield,
West Virginia was found dead in the
middle of the road on Route 600 around
8-30 in the evening.

One man who declined to be on
camera tells News 7 a neighbor
approached him covered in blood that
night.

He also says the man had been
drinking.

Investigators do have a suspect
in this case but are not releasing the
identity of the possible shooter or the
victim.
