finally underway is newsworthy because
the project has seen plenty of ups and
downs since it began more than three
years ago.
At that time, the land was
cleared and since then it's been
undeveloped.
As a result, many consider Slate
Hill to be an eye sore.
Recently, construction crews
began building roads, curb and gutters,
as well retaining walls.
A spokesperson for the developer
tell us there are still no tenants
signed.
There's not even a date as to
when the project may be finished.

scheduled to update county leaders
about the project.

In their civilian lives- Shane
Fletcher and Kevin Assenat ass-en-nay
are Roanoke City Police Officers.
In Iraq.... they were part of a
convoy when they were injured by a
suicide bomber in December of 2005.
It took Assenat ass-en-nay a year
to recover from shrapnel to the eye and
both men will always suffer from
ringing in their ears.
Regardless of their personal
injuries and struggles since returning
home - both say the Iraqi people need
us.

disappointment of not making the NCAAs
in a hurry this week and then channeled
its energy into tonight's NIT opener
against overmatched Morgan State.
The Hokies were playing for their
20th win of the season and they were
trying to get coach Seth Greenberg his
300th career win.
