Virginia Tech shootings are being
offered a deal by the state of
Virginia.

But, it doesn't come without a
price.

VO NAT The agreement was leaked to the
Associated Press by one of the
relatives.

In the settlement -families would
get 100-thousand dollars, a chance to
meet and question the governor and
university officials about what
happened that day and coverage for
medical expenses.

News7 talked to some families by
phone who said they hadn't been
contacted about the settlement -
Governor Kaine says this settlement has
been in the works for months.

progress that's been made on the new
art museum in downtown Roanoke.

But you've only seen it from the
outside, what does it look like inside
the building?

for a tour. Justin I understand the
project just hit a major milestone.

That's right Natasha, the art
museum is now 85-percent complete.

has some ways to go but you can clearly
see things have taken shape.

This is what it looks like inside
the large glass atrium. You'll notice
a lot of the framework and the walls
are now in place.

Construction recently began on
the large grand stair case that will
take folks to the second floor.

That's where you'll find the art
galleries, some of which have already
been painted.

Officials are confident the
public will be happy with the finished
product.

finished later this summer but keep in
mind the building will remain empty for
several months to get the art ready for
the new climate.

all counts today of killing his
girlfriend and the abuse and neglect of
their two children.

The Roanoke County jury
recommended Leroy Ransome serve 32
years in prison.

Ransome made the sign of the
cross as the judge announced the
verdict, then repeatedly shook his head
in disbelief.

Ransome said the gun went off by
accident, killing Latasha Boardly after
an all-night party in 2006.

November 16, 2006 Boardly had taken the children to
the Super-8 motel for a night that
included beer, vodka and cocaine.

A firearms expert testified the
gun could not have discharged the way
Ransome said it had.

has been cleared of another charge.

:00 Kenny Tran was found not guilty
of sexual battery today in Montgomery
County.

Six clients at his business Sky
Nails said Tran had touched them
inappropriately.

Last week, a judge dismissed a
felony charge of sexual battery against
Tran after watching surveillance video
of his salon.

Today was Tran's third acquittal,
but he has several more trials to go.
