GRAPHIC=I-64 SHOOTINGS Virginia State Police say the
number of vehicles shot on Interstate
64 early Thursday morning has climbed
to six.

VO-NAT They're still searching for two
suspects that shot at random vehicles
along the interstate near
Charlottesville.
Two people were injured.
Police spent most of the day
searching overpasses and wooded areas
for shell casings or other evidence
near the shooting scenes.
The Virginia State Police
Superintendent says he believes the
suspects may still be in the area, and
that drivers should not be scared of
using I-64.

fees are officially gone.

Governor Tim Kaine today signed
two bills that repeal the fees.
They also ensure citizens who
paid them get a refund....
No action is necessary, the
Department of Accounts will
automatically mail them.
All outstanding fees will also be
waived.
Also, anyone who lost their
license because they could not afford
the fees can now get it back for free.

and Danville can stop worrying. It's
an update to a story News-7 has been
covering.

Although employees have been laid
off, the two Virginia Employment
Commission offices in the Southside
will not be closing, at least not for
now.
Governor Kaine says the
communities were worried one or both
offices might be shut down as part of
statewide budget cuts.
The Governor did say other V-E-C
offices might be moved into other
facilities to centralize
services.

dentist...Roanoke's Mission of Mercy
Dental Project is offering free
treatment again this year.
But it needs hundreds of more
volunteers for next month's clinic.

May 2007 Last year more than a thousand
people received free dental care...and
they're expecting to help another
13-hundred this year.
To pull it off organizers need
600 volunteers for each day.
The greatest need is for dental
assistants, nurses, interpreters and
most importantly general volunteers.
The clinic is April 25th and 26th
at Roanoke Civic Center.
