ANCHOR=JEAN State police says bullets hit at
least five cars last night in three
spots along the highway west of
Charlottesville.
Two people had minor injures, but
it's unknown if their injures were
caused by bullets or glass.
Investigators spent most of the
day searching overpasses and wooded
areas for shell casings or other
evidence near the shooting scenes.
Police aren't releasing any
details about the weapon, but say the
same type of gun was used in all the
shootings.

a shooting spree in Northern Virginia,
D-C and Maryland in October, 2002
The shootings produced near-panic
in the D-C metro area, until Muhammad
and Malvo were caught.
The random shootings killed 10
people.
Earlier this month, the Maryland
Supreme Court rejected- -without
comment- -Muhammad's request for a new
trial.
He's on death row in Virginia.

The Rockbridge County Sheriff's
office says Justin Crowder and several

charged.

man was dropped after a preliminary
hearing in Blacksburg today.

December after a fight outside of a
Blacksburg nightclub.
He was accused of second degree
murder in the death of Cory Deon
Allison of Welch, West Virginia.
Leftwich testified today saying
he was badly beaten by a group of men.
He told the judge that Allison
came back for a second attack and
that's when Leftwich stabbed him in the
abdomen and leg.
Leftwich's attorney said the
killing was in self defense, and the
judge agreed.

and raising fighting dogs.
She was sentenced to 10 years for
both crimes, but it was knocked down to

Sandra's husband Sean Burlarley
Burr-lar-lee was found guilty of
manufacturing methamphetamine as well
as raising dogs to fight.
He also got a 10 years sentence,
but it was reduced to time in a
substance abuse program.

bills that repeal the fees.
They also ensure that citizens
who'd already had to pay get a refund.
No action is necessary, the
Department of Accounts is supoposed to

to pay the fees can now get it back...

Dental Project is offering free
treatment again this year.
But it needs hundreds of more
volunteers for next month's clinic.

<< Good evening, I'm meteorologist
Robin Reed in the SkyTracker7 Forecast
Center. Expect a rather mild night
with lows in the low and mid 50s. Skies
will be variably cloudy. Light showers
skirted just to our north Thursday, and
that's exactly where they will stay
tonight. The Greenbrier Valley and west
central Highlands may see a sprinkle -
but that's it. Friday may start with a
little sunshine mixed with clouds, but
with time clouds will thicken as the
boundary to our north moves into the
NEWS7 viewing area. Showers should
develop throughout the day from
northwest to southeast. We'll be warm
ahead of the front, with highs reaching
the low and mid 70s. A stray
thunderstorm is also possible during
the afternoon. Friday will be breezy at
times. Showers continue Friday night
with lows cooler in the low and mid
40s. High pressure will drive in much
cooler and drier air Saturday. In fact,
after showers Friday night, we'll
likely become mostly sunny Saturday.
Highs are forecast around the mid 50s!
The Highlands may actually stay in the
40s - much cooler! Clouds will make an
attempt to move in from the west
Sunday; and a few light showers may
also form just to the west of Roanoke.
A "cool air wedge" will keep us below
normal with highs in the upper 40s and
a few lower 50s. Mainly cloudy skies
and a few showers will continue Monday
through Wednesday of next week with a
warming trend, as highs return to the

Ticker and the Virginia Tech Hokies saw
their Season come to an end last night
with a loss to Ole Miss in the N-I-T
Quarterfinals.
Tech fell one win short of
getting a trip to New York City. The
Hokies though did not fall short of
expectations, as they won 21 games with
a roster loaded with underclassmen.
That leads to high expectations
for the future.
