in a shooting a couple of months ago
has been indicted by a grand jury on a
charge of unlawful wounding.

February On February 14th, a 17-year-old
was shot on Maryland Avenue after
police say he tried to run from a
traffic stop.
The Roanoke Police Department
investigated the shooting, and handed
the facts of the criminal investigation
over to the Roanoke Commonwealth's
Attorneys Office.
The Disciplinary Review Board
will study the internal investigation,
and decide whether or not disciplinary
action is required.
Officer D. Meyer will remain on
paid administrative leave pending the
outcome of the court proceedings.

29 hundred new jobs to the area as

heading to Texas to pick up Steven
Branscome, who waived extradition
there.
He'll face numerous charges,
ranging from attempted capital murder
of a state trooper to reckless driving.

Center. We started Monday with a bit
of fog and drizzle along the mountains,
then overcast skies throughout the day
for everyone. The easterly wind
component will keep the cool air wedge
locked in place, with afternoon highs
only reaching the upper 50s today and
Tuesday. By Wednesday, clouds may lift
enough to see a brief period of
sunshine, this may help temperatures to
climb into the mid 60s. It looks like
by Thursday we'll notice this wedge
breaking, leading to increasing
sunshine. A warm front will also pass
north, this means afternoon highs will
soar well into the 70s. A big
difference from how we started the
week. Friday will feature increasing
clouds and a slight chance of showers
as a cold front approaches. High will
remain warm (upper 70s) with overcast
skies. As the cold front pushes east,
it looks like the best chance of
showers and storms will be Saturday
(40%) with highs in the 70s. Things

Blacksburg police were called to
Patrick Henry Drive around 4:30.
The victim was attacked from
behind by two men who beat him until he
handed over cash, a credit card, and
his cell phone.
The victim required no medical
attention.

problems with the law are far from
over, but the word out of the maximum
security prison he living in out in
Leavenworth, Kansas is that Vick is
staying in shape.

the New York Daily News today that Vick
has been playing football on a prison
team - and that he has been playing
quarterback for both teams - sort of
like we used to do on the playground.
Blank also said Vick is making 12
cents an hour these days washing pot
and pans at the prison.
Remember Vick will go to trial on
state dogfighting charges back here in
Virginia on June 27th.
