Elliston.

Four homes and a farm will be
displaced by the project...
Construction is still a ways off.
Norfolk Southern must get permits and

has been indicted by a grand jury on a
charge of unlawful wounding.

Joshua Brown was shot and injured on
Maryland Avenue, after police say he
tried to run from a traffic stop.
They say Officer D. Meyer fired
once, but
no weapon was found on Brown.
Roanoke Police investigated the
shooting, and handed the facts of the
criminal investigation over to the
Roanoke Commonwealth's Attorneys
Office.
Officer Meyer will remain on paid
administrative leave pending the
outcome of the court proceedings.

the city to get involved in a plan to
raise 27- million dollars for major
renovations to the facility.

Square, the Science Museum of Western
Virginia and the Harrison Museum of
African American Culture are making a
joint request that the city pick up
part of the tab.
Spectrum Design is working on a
plan that would restore elements of the
building's original exterior, while
making room for cutting edge exhibits
inside, and on the roof.
The organizations are requesting
a multi-year contribution of four
million dollars from the city. Council
members did not commit, but said they
are supportive.
