response to the shootings at Virginia
Tech.

Most of the new laws are designed
to improve Virginia's mental health
system.
They include new criteria for
when a person can be committed....
A standard that focuses more on
public safety and less on personal
rights.
The new laws also clarify when
information can be shared.
If a college counselor determines
a student may, in the near future, harm
himself or someone else, the school can
notify the student's parents.
Also, starting this summer, once
a student has been accepted for
admission, colleges and universities
can request mental health records from
the student's last school.

through. Skies will be partly cloudy

the 40s. With a warm front north of
the area, and a southerly breeze,
Thursday's highs warm to the mid and
upper 70s under partly sunny skies.
Friday is similar, with a 30% chance of
afternoon or evening showers from the
Roanoke Valley and points west. A more

a sex escapade.

took the girls to a motel for
pornographic movies, marijuana, alcohol
and sex over the weekend.
The two girls say they wanted to
watch Alvin and the Chipmunks but were
forced to watch porn instead.

The grade- school principal has

lot.
The neighbors call it "Three Tree
Harbor."
The man started to build the tree
house two years ago. He's been
homeless for four years.

flying high after setting a new world
speed record for helicopters.

To make matters more interesting,

The original coast-to-coast
record was 88 hours, so they still beat
