Guard.
They trained together and were
deployed to Iraq together in 2004 for
two years.
They later got married, had
children and Jesse finished his service
with the Guard.
But when Betsy's unit was
reactived in early 2007-- her husband
stepped in for her.

about power outages in the Alleghany
Highlands.
Last hour we reported that about
six-thousand customers were without
power.
According to Dominion Power the
outages were caused by some blown fuses
at a sub station.
However, it's unclear why that
happened.
The police chief in Covington
says power is starting to come back on.
A Dominion spokeswoman says all
the power should have been restored by
six o'clock.

pried the screen off a van window,
smashed the glass and climbed out along
Route 58 in Carroll County.
Other drivers saw it happen

Yates was flown to Roanoke
Memorial Hospital where he was
reportedly in stable condition and
talking to invesitgators.

transported from the Chatham Diversion
Center in Pittsylvania County to jail
in Tazewell County.
Court records show he pled
guilty in 2006 to failing to stop for
an accident in Tazewell County.
He was sentened to a year in
prison and five years of supervised
probation.

The list was published by the
City Auditor last night.

these companies.
The list includes three lawyers,

year.
There's no indication Revenue

amphitheater in Roanoke. The city has
selected a company to design and manage
an amphitheater. Red Light
Management's proposal was designed
specifically for the Reserve Avenue
Area.
Earlier in the day, Roanoke
Mayoral candidate David Bowers and City
councilman Brian Wisheff proposed
scrapping the amphitheater project and
using the money to renovate the
downtown area.

The two believe a 7-thousand seat
amphitheater along Reserve avenue is
unneccesary.
Instead they pledged to built a
3-thousand seater in Elmwood Park.

million for the Church Avenue garage
renovations.

Flora will have to pay one
thousand dollars in restitution to the
convenience store where he worked. The
prosecutor is not asking ask for jail
time.

punishment when Flora's sentenced in

Roanoke County tonight.

<< Good evening, I'm meteorologist
Brent Watts in the SkyTracker7 Forecast
Center. A few showers and even an
evening storm is certainly possible,
with the best chances being in the
western mountains. These storms are
coming in rather strong, but are
expected to weaken as they approach a
bit more stable air. We'll monitor this
through the evening.
The front crosses Virginia Saturday,
with mostly cloudy skies in the
morning, and partly sunny conditions
during the afternoon. There's a slight
chance of a few showers early Saturday,
but rain amounts will be on the low
side. Highs are forecast in the mid and
upper 60s. The front will be east of us
Saturday evening, and that night will
be much cooler with lows in the low and
mid 40s. Sunday is pretty overcast and
western hometowns especially may see a
20% chance of a light rain or snow
shower. Temperatures will only manage
the mid 50s. 30s are forecast Sunday
night - bundle up and cover any tender
vegetation that was planted early. For

his High School Wrestling Career as he
won his second straight State Title.

County's newly formed Criminal Justice
Academy today.
The group of eleven men and women
will work in the Roanoke County/Salem
jail.
They began their training in
