And altough Omar says time hasn't

to move forward after losing a loved

one so suddenly.

grief, by helping others through
community service projects.

Over the last year, the Cloyds have
to come to realize just how many lives
Austin touched.

Her former hometown of Champaign,
Iliniois, named a street in her honor
back in August.

The Blacksburg High School girl's
basketball team retired her
jersey...and created a scholarship in
her memory.

And Austin is still inspiring
others. Dozens of tech students have
now followed in her foosteps
volunteering for the Appalachia Service
project..rebuilding homes for low
income families.

morning.

No one likes to talk about it,
but there is a 33rd family.

though technically he became one when
he shot himself.

The point is: the shooter's

family must still be devastated by the
legacy he has left them.

Robin Reed in the SkyTracker7 Forecast
Center. The dry air that's across the
area will cool rapidly this evening
once the sun goes down. Look for clear
skies tonight with calm wind and
temperatures falling to the low and mid
30s. There could be some areas of frost
early Thursday morning. Temperatures
continue to warm to around 80 degrees
for the rest of the week under sunny
skies. High pressure will wrap in
southerly winds at 5-10mph, leading to
the spring warmth. The weekend may
not be looking as wet as previously
thought. A late shower is possible
Saturday, but most of the day should be
partly sunny. Temperatures will still
be warm in the low to mid 70s. Saturday
night expect a few showers, some of
which may linger into the first half of
Sunday as a front works to the east.

will be closed indefinitely now that
fire destroyed a 100-year-old-bridge.

Fire crews were called to the
19-hundred block of Fort Avenue around
1:45 this morning.

They had a tough time fighting
the flames because of a broken water
main and steep terrain under the
bridge.

Police believe the fire was
started by a group of homeless people

trying to stay warm.

The city is actually planning to
demolish the bridge for the new
"midtown connector" road project.

was vandalized.

Sheriff's officials say someone
tried to firebomb Dixie Outfitters.

Around 3 this morning someone
threw a glass container filled with
flammable liquid at the building.

The fire burned out quickly and
only the roof was damaged.

Two weeks ago, someone shot out
several of the building's windows.

Investigators don't know if if
the two incidents are related.

State Trooper and eluding police for
more than a week was brought to a
courthouse today to begin answering to
those criminal charges.

VO-NAT Steven Branscome was ordered

held without bond in Princeton, West
Virginia.

Earlier this month, Branscome
allegedly led police on a chase in
Giles County, then opened fire on a
Virginia State Trooper after they
crossed into West Virginia. The trooper
was not seriously hurt and Branscome
escaped.

He was eventually apprehended
in Texas.

Branscome will face malicious
wounding and other charges in West
Virginia first, then likely be brought
to Virginia to face additional charges.

Governor Kaine made the move
today following a U-S Supreme Court
decision that upheld lethal injections.

A spokesman for the governor
said executions will proceed according
to the same procedures that were in
place before the Supreme Court case was
heard.
