second degree murder.

at William Byrd High School.

They'll be going at it until ten
this morning.

Organizers had hoped to raise
20-THOUSAND DOLLARS for cancer research
but they've already SURPASSED that

this "inagural" event has been a huge
success for Vinton.

The school board wants to turn one of
the elementary schools...into an
academy for over-age students to boost
graduation rates.

development dispute.

The city granted the
developer.... permission for longer

24th Marine "Expeditionary" Unit.

While at VMI... he served as an
assistant Marine officer instructor.

was 35 years old.

has finally reached his resting place.

Elwood Reynolds died in 1950...,
but it wasn't until earlier this
year... that the Pittsylvania County
native's remains were IDENTIFIED and
sent home for a proper burial.

heat from mental health advocates.

The governor amended the state
budget to add mental health drugs to
the Medicaid preferred drug list.

That means, in order for Medicaid
to cover medications, doctors must
prescribe drugs on the list.

Advocates say the the problem is
some patients will respond better to
drugs that ARE NOT on the list.

In order to get those drugs
patients must first "fail" on the
preferred drugs.

Doctors say failure can be
deadly.

it's being held at William Byrd High
School but here's for another reason,

he's battling cancer.

found out he has colon cancer.

He had surgery a week later and has
five more chemotherapy sessions to go.

times but he's missed very little
